[HOW TO] Access Diagnostics Menu

Here are a couple of photos showing how to access diagnostics menu, what each sub-menu does I do not know.

Sorry for the quality, used my mobile phone, the wife nicked the decent camera today.

I think I'm going to cry, even more toys to play with, it's like Christmas again, and I still haven't picked my car up yet..........

I've only had a little play so far, but I've already centralised the picture on the screen (much better now - the icons on the left were partially hidden before) and I notice that the car monitors tyre wear and adjusts the speedo accordingly (this will be why my speedo over-read so much at the beginning but now is a bit better). But you can over-ride it.... More playing soon..

And it know where the sun is! Possibly to give different left/right cold blows when the sunlight sensor detects sun..? How cool!

The tyre calibration doesn't seem to affect the speedo...

Just had a quick look at the diagnostics menu, made me jump when I selected Fuctional Setup (At least I think that was it) and a b****y great bleaping came from the speakers!

Has anyone sussed out what all these menu items do?

Very non-exciting but may help someone somewhere , but if you push the MAP button, when in the GPS information section your yellow satellite will change to number. Not sure but I guess each satellite has its own number ID

Solar Angle ?

Does anybody know what this is used for ?

On my SN it is always shown with North straight up and the sun (?) in the centre and I cannot seem to change it (at least permanently)

Buttons to Push for North American range cars

Map+Menu+Cancel will bring up the same diagnostics screen on North American models (I have a US car, I assume the Canadian model is the same).

The buttons all have text labels on the North American range rather than the icon for back (cancel).
The buttons are arranged in two columns of four. One column on the left of the screen and one to the right.
Map, Menu, Cancel are on the right of the display on the US range.

Just to let everyone know all these screens and settings that you can change are ONLY FOR THE SAT NAV.They will not alter your speedo settings or anything else on the car for that matter they are only there to help calibrate the sat nav and make it more accurate if the GPS system ever fails. All the messing about with the yaw rates and tyre calibrations will just lead to the Sat Nav being innacurate!!

Has anyone tried setting the Mic level yet? If yes, did you have to speak for long? Did it make a big difference? Would love to know, as I'm about to try it out soon.

Thanks.

Hey Mihael,

Thanks for that! I'll try do adjust mine sometime this week. I've had the foam thing done to it too and apparetly that worked a treat - but there's nothing wrong with tweaking it a bit more I think.

Thanks.

Hey Woolyciv,

I see that you've tried doing this, any luck with the person being able to hear you better?

Thanks.
