The only reason i can see that they would remove the function would be that the doors dont unlock in an accident, Not a theory i am willing to test,

Do you think that it'll be removed if they flash the s/w of an 06 car during the service?

I would imagine so if they do reflash.

I thought about that too, but as the doors can all be locked from the driver's door controls, it doesn't seem likely (though like you I'm not keen to find out for sure!).

No. The software for the door unlocking is not in the ECU, so it's with your car for life!

Sometimes; I do wonder if you don't work for Honda!

Maybe you are really Mr. Honda and when you say you fly it's just your personal Jet.

How do you know which model year you have?

- 2007 : SHHFK37607U000258

The 2 bold digits show you.

I took car to garage this morning to get HFT sorted. Had a noise coming from dash area - the guy from service came with me in car so could try and get noise to happen. Typical it didn't!

Anyway... as I drove off the locks automatically locked as per these instructions. The service guy said "Oh you've been on that website then?"

civinfo.com is definitely growing... Sounds like Honda dealerships around the country are all getting to know about this amazing site.

Being of the girly variety of civic drivers with my handbag by my side, security is something that often concerns me. Handbag snatchings or even car hijacking at traffic lights etc are becoming more common. This is fab!!! I've just enabled auto locking and unlocking and I love it. I share concerns about RTA's but I am torn between the two safety issues.

That hi-jacking thing is scary.

But think, your cars stops and engine switched off many times (.: auto unlock)

You don't crash (hopefully) many times and .: the auto unlock feature is not called for.

If the emergency services wished to enter your car after an accident, I don't think a locked door will stop them at all.

Auto lock for me and thee then.

Just 71 days til Christmas

Anyone else excited about that then?

Maybe I'll get that wiper I've always wanted.
