Is that from the dodgy petrol from the South east then?

interestingly.... I spoke to the dealer yesterday, enquiring if it's possible to auto lock on an 07 car.. the technician said that there is an option (some cars they get through, they have to switch this off), but they cannot activate it, or tell me how to activate it as it's not been homologated.

It was suggested I contact HUK Customer Support.. I'm currently awaiting a call back from them (promised it would be today) - stressed that it's very important to me - the day I took delivery of my CTR, 2 cars were carjacked in my area (and it's not a rough area!)

fingers crossed..

I had this on my C4 and find it useful.

I'm surprised this isn't available on the Civic

Stumbled...

HUK won't say how to do it - neither will the dealer...

Pottsy - do you have any contact's that will let it slip?

It's been completely removed from 2007 spec models, so no amount of digging will get it to work.

Why not just press the door lock button. Takes all of a second.

That's not what the dealer - or HUK have said... despite me asking the question directly...

I believe it is there - they've moved the mechanism of how to activate it.

The technician at the dealer told me that they sometimes get cars through with it already activated (on 07 models) and they have to de-activate it during the PDI

The ONE time you forget to press it is probably the ONE time you needed it...

Why not ask the technician how he de-activates it, as he seems to know more than anyone else in the Honda world. Once you know that reverse the process and bingo you'll have the only 07 Model with Auto locks.

I had thought about that... but I'm guessing he'll be switched on enough to know that's why I want to know!!

Worth a punt tho....

This may sound daft but couldn't it just be a case of a few 07 models with 06 ECU's?

Not unknown for a manufacturer to use old parts on a new model during a production shortage.

Could be !! - Though when I asked a direct question - HUK did not deny the setting was there...

Need to go to the stealers in the next few days or so - so will ask again there..

If they just said "There is no such setting available" I would have dropped this by now and looked at third party solutions... but they didn't!

since this is a security feature that any number of cars come with - would an e-mail to watchdog or similar be in order?

Might put some heat on to HUK to make this available to all!!

No - somethings are worth kicking up a stink about & others will be met with the response "there's a switch by the window controls that locks the doors for you".

It would be a nice feature, but surely we cannot blame Honda if somebody gets attacked/stolen from because the car door didn't lock automatically.

Any number of cars come with removable roofs so you can drive around with the lid off. Should we put a complaint in?

Sorry to say, you got what you expected, Honda never said they'd offer this.
I love having this feature (06 model, sorry) but didn't have it for 5 months and never considered complaining.
