Strange that you used the Apple Dashboard logo in your screen.
I guess you have a Mac (I Do), looks good though.

Question I'm missing something (the bins in fact!)

Perhaps someone can help me.

My Civic EX has the following Sat Nav disc APN2-45101 Ver 3.00 and the root directory contains the following files. Where are the BIN files the hack needs? Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

STX1300man & jupdio

It looks as if things have changed on the DVD.

STX1300man, it looks as if you are not seeing any bin files. Check that you are not hiding hidden or system files (in folder options).

The image must be coming from somewhere, though I guess it's possible the image is now loaded through an official Honda CD. Check to see if you have any files (bin or otherwise) with a file size around 18.2 MB (19,142,759 bytes) in any of the other folders. It might be a simple file rename.

Maybe someone can E-Mail me the needed BIN-File?
I can put it on my Webspace for the other Users who need this file too.

I'm afraid the DVD is copyrighted and prohibits any unauthorised copying or distribution, so I can't upload the files you need.

sorry

It seems that on versions later than mine (3.01), the files aren't there. Something major changed. So major, that if I try putting the new 06-07 (ver 3.03) disc into my car, it doesn't work at all (it says "The disc you have inserted is older than the software on the car").

pcr - looking at it right now. Looks like we might need a flash update, but the flash update is not on the new disc (like it was on the old disk, hence the problems that others have had doing this hack).

Will post again when I learn more...

Wish I could do this on my 2007 car. I’d go for the Windows XP start-up screen or an old fashioned Teletext screen just to see the look of confusion on peoples faces when it starts.

You can do it on the 2007 cars, so long as you have the 3.05 disc. It's only the 3.03 version that doesn't work. I've put the details in the wiki.

Thumbs down

I think Honda might have stopped this hack working. I’ve tried twice and it just results in a blank screen being displayed instead of the image then continues to the nag screen as normal.

My car was made in March 07. Anyone else got it to work on a new car?

Of course I could have done something wrong, but I followed the instructions to the letter and didn’t get any errors.
