Unhappy NHB - DIY Colour Coding - NOT recommended

well...

As some of may have noticed elsewhere on here, I suggested using Back to Black on the grey trims bits

I've just come in from putting my actions where my mouth (fingers) are...

Stunning!

Too dark now to take decent pictures, and it might take a couple of coats to get it really black, but after 15 mins work, I am well happy with the results

cheers both - feeling a bit better now

even if sco was commenting on the bits near where I'd put the hard work in

It looks good TT. I think I'll have to give it a go at the weekend, maybe followed by the Trim Gel to finish it off.

thank you

I put a second coat on at the weekend, which darkened it further - but then it started to rain, and now the whole car is looking a sort of muddy grey again

(I'm sure it looks good underneath all the mud though )

As per my original suggestion TT, save a fortune on 'Back to Black' by getting them painted

Hi, sorry to ask and if I sound dumb, but I don't see the difference between the two pictures. Did you re-paint all your Civic or only a specific part? (sorry for the question).

there is only a subtle difference, not helped by the top picture being from my phone

The only bit I've touched is the dark(ish) grey trim around the wheels and under the doors.

Whilst it doesn't show too well in the pics, as standard it's definately grey - but after 2 coats of 'back to black' it's almost the same colour as the car

If we get some decent weather this weekend, and if the wife can remember what safe place she put the camera in, I'll get another shot from the same angle as the original (before any work) one

Okay I can see it now. Definitely a more hi-def picture would accentuate the différence ^^

certainly within a 5 mile radius of Roath Park

Although if you've just seen it, I need to have a word with the service dept at Rydale Honda

should I be keeping an eye out for your plate?

No Not really,

Born and bread in Cardiff (Tremorfa) but spent a lot on my time in the Roath area - sounds sad but the houses looked familiar (from what I can see anyway)

Live in Portsmouth now so unless you have a good set of binoculars...
