Well I picked mine up today - I had a nice new shiney SCRATCHED dash !!!!

I actually found it quite funny - I think I have passed all the emotions to do with this car now.

Anyway, they are replacing it again for me and this time with the type R one, I prefer the original one but its just too much hard work.

The other thing is when I had my car repaired before they left a slight raised bit near my door handle, it went back to have that done too this week and now they have put a scratch above the door handle - so it is going back again, the strange thing is I cant get angry with the staff there cos I really like them all and they couldnt have apologised more if they tried.

Despite it all I still love the car too so the car is staying faults an all

Thats the reason !

They do like you so much that they just scratch your car to have the opportunity to see you again !

maybe a secret lover in the staff ?

Beware of them TC

Thumbs up

Very nice mod Pottsy, like it so much that I was just waiting for someone to make sure it fitted before ordering it.

Been to Stratstone Honda today and parts guy has just ordered, £35 all in and I'll be fitting it over the weekend, nice quick job and no more scratched dash!!

What will be your next Type-R tweak/ Modification that should be on all Civs?

Excellent

Might wait until the first service and have it done then, unless it can be done as a while-you-wait jobby on a Saturday.

Wonder how long it would take?

And.....does the blanking grommet come as part of the facia? Need it with the EX.

Well I was told it was only a half hour job so I would imagine up to an hour. Im a bit fed up I noticed last night that the clear plastic bit of the screen is covered in scratches too now looks likes it has been wiped with a cloth with grit in it I give up

So it's probably best to leave well alone as the mechanics seem to be a bit careless with the soft plastic!

Potty's photo's are a good guide but it would take a video of the operation for me so that I could assess whether I felt competent enough.

Well apparently the guys at Honda wear gloves whilst doing the dash, I have a feeling this was done at the Bodyshop where the car went back for a correction on the previous paintwork, my car has been many many times to Honda and it has never come back scratched before.

The how-to here is fine, it's just that knowing me I will pull something the wrong way and snap a clip off.

Smile Great post again Pottsy - I have questions!

Thanks for the post Pottsy, you're God like status on this forum has moved to a higher level!

Do you know, or does anyone else for that matter, know how much the clear screen, and the HID swtich costs?

Do I read right that the Type R dash is £35 inc VAT?

I am waiting for a reply to my letter to Honda before I go and buy, in case they will replace for free, but if not, I'd like to replace the whole lot inc the centre clear section, Pottsy, is this held on with a couple of screws too?

Cheers,
Ian

Is it my imagination, or is this a different finish that Adri Civic is showing us, it looks different to Pottsy's Type-R facia ?.

Ham'sCivic, I am fairly certain that the clear perspex is the bonded front of the instrument unit and not a seperately replaceable sheet.

I hope I haven't just bought the wrong bit.
I was just charged £50 for the fascia.
HondaHeaven, what was the part number of the fascia you have got?? Or did you get a discount??
