[HOW-TO] Install fog lights

How to Install Fog light Kit Outside

Kit out of box

outofbox.jpg

First Remove the flaps under bumper, One Screw Two Studs (both sides)

flapin.jpg

flapout.jpg

flapaway.jpg

Then undo the screw and stud for the arch cover and carefully unclip cover to wing. (Both Sides)

archtrim.jpg

Then remove two bolts and two studs on the underside of the bumper and the screw at the top of the bumper behind the arch cover, then gently prise off bumper, its just clipped across the top.

nobumper.jpg

If you have headlight washers you will need to detach pipework and cap to avoid loosing all your washer fluid.

pump.jpg

The inside of the bumper is stamped where the holes go so drill small pilot hole

pilots.jpg

Then drill 20mm holes from the outside, remove plastic covers and fit fog lights using bolt supplied,

bigholes.jpg

Remove more studs from inside offside wheel arch to move liner enough to get behind washer bottle and locate blue cable with loose connector and attach light loom

extconn.jpg

tankcable.jpg

Feed loom across front and attach earth cable

earth.jpg

Clip to inside of crossmember and through to nearside

passconn.jpg

Refit bumper connecting fog lights and reattaching washer hose reversing above procedure.

Inside

Remove end trim from dash and remove screw

sidepanel.jpg

Prise off lower dash cover and locate mounting bolt

mounting.jpg

Fit relay bracket attach relay and plug blue cable into switch loom (Relay centre bottom Connector centre top)

relay.jpg

Remove multiplug from above fuse box (second one up) and fit two cables from loom into plug, refit plug and put supplied fuse in number 6

fusebox.jpg

Remove three screws under steering wheel and remove cowling,
Remove screws in stalk and replace with one in kit.

stalkrem.jpg

Box it all back together and there you go mission complete.

I'm mightily impressed with your work.

What is the unit in the 13th photo near the left hand wheel, is it a second horn? I seem to have two but one is at the left hand side and one is at the right.

I`ve got headlight washers which has a bigger bottle so there`s probably no room on the offside for the horn.

Many thanks to civicsport for this How-to, great work. There are a few others here who want to do this - hopefully this will be the catalyst that gets them going!

It`s Dead easy only took 1 1/2 Hours and that included taking the photos, it comes apart dead easy most of it is just clips (too much really). How the dealers can charge £150 is beyond me.

Well done mate, I'm massively impressed also with your efforts......and bloody glad mine came with them as standard!!!!

Now, as you are clearly very good at taking perfectly good cars apart for fun, can you get cracking on sorting an iPod solution please!!!???

Oh, and your photos are very explanatory too.....good job!

Yeah, well done. Looks very tricky. But your photos have made it that much easier for anyone who wants to follow in your footsteps. Must be one of the best "How-Tos" yet.

They wanted to charge me £45 for the labour to replace one fog lamp, they said it was a bumper off job and would take 45 minutes.

I am planning on fitting front parking sensors, so the guidelines on how to remove the front bumper are really helpful. Anyone got any ideas of how to route the wires from the bumper back inside the car? If I can find that out, I am almost certainly going to fit them myself and I will make the How-To
