Question Having a problem disconnecting.

I hate beepers...

But on my car there is a green clamp thingy attaching the blue connector to the seat. The blue connector won´t budge and I haven´t had the currage to pull the green thingy out of the seat either.

This cannot be seen in the original fotos.

Any-one else encoundered this green "clamp"?

I wonder if Honda have read this thread and put counter measures in place?

Not seen a green clamp - but it should all be undo-able, since it needs to come undone to get the seat off.

Any chance of a photo?

Some Vauxhalls have a similar type of 'clip' on some of the electrical connections. Try flicking the green bit with a screw driver, as it will usually just flick open and then you just pull the plug off.

I do not have my own digital camera.

Therefore:

a) I have been called "a tight sod" in other threads

b) It took a few days to borrow one

c) The image quality sucks....

But you can probably just see the dark green clip against the black background to the left.

Well it doesn't work in a LHD Civic. The blue connector is under the passenger seat on the right side, and it only disables the beeper for the passenger. There is no blue connector under the driver's seat.

Is there any other way to disable the beeper?

I think this is the easiest. "My" connector had a slightly different colour code then shown in the picture, (white/blue I think - long time ago) but oriented and placed like the one in the pictures in the forum.

Under the driver's seat? My car has two connectors under the driver's seat (none of which is blue) and three connectors under the passenger's seat. One of those is white/blue, like on the picture...

If you follow the instructions from the first post in this thread, it should be possible to find it. I did, even if the colour code was different from the picture. My car is LHD and early 2007 (on Friday I've had it on year).
Maybe they've changed the layout?

I made a stupid mistake and believed my father, when he said that the white connector cannot be put apart. I tried it myself, and undoing the white/white connector under the drivers seat did the trick!

Thank you all for helping me, especially GHGH!

is there not just a way to cut the feed to the speaker? that way you still get the red light indicating your seatbelt is undone but not the head ache before youve even started your journey. i hate it i carry alot of stuff and often have things on the passenger seat that set off the seatbelt alarm when there is noone sat in it.

why cant we just have a light?

It's on the pcb for the tach - the snag is that you will lose all the really useful dings that the car makes too.

The more annoying the beeper (and the more seats that it covers) gains the car NCAP points.

I agree (and so does my next door neighbour when I put the key in at 6:15 in the morning), I have to agree with Clarkson with that one, it is pointless.
