i know it would look silly without them but If I'm getting them painted and I still need to use the car for a couple of days while they are away being done then I don't care haha.

Just a shout out to say thanks to the OP, I just used this guide to remove the handle from my passenger side for painting.

@ branyik - You can put the handle back together without the silver bit and the handle will still function. You might get some water in the door though if it were to rain (Although what are the chances of that at the moment aye?)

Great How-to; repaired the silver trim on my drivers side today, stuck using 'Sticks like sh*t' and it is haha
