That is some thing i have to live with. I like the red badge, or perhaps a white one if i find one.

Is the red badge glued on? or just held in place with some screws through the 2 holes in the centre of the grill? (wild guess)

Could somebody who got the Type-R grill remove the normal H from the original grill? |

This is what you need: Nr 1. 71121-SMT-E01 = Grill Mesh. Nr 2. 71122-SMT-E01ZA = Grill Mesh holder. Nr 4. 7500-SMT-E00 = RED Honda "Type-R" Badge, or the type of Honda badge you like. Nr 3. 71125-SMG-E00 = Cover, right top on the pic is only the cover for the hole thing, you can use the one you got. I bought this one, it was exactly the same as the one i had so i am sure. I would hazzard a guess that whatever extra air does come in, most of it will have gone over / around / through the radiator, and gotten warmed up a bit
any extra flow certainly won't hurt |

Many thanks to RogS for the 'How to' and the pics - it looks good, and I'm tempted to change mine - not because it comes from a Type R, but because I just really like the look of it on an NHB Civic, particularly with the Image Pack front grille.
But ..... I would like to retain the black colour 'H' badge and I am unclear from the existing posts as to whether the existing one can be used or if there is another Honda Part No. which will do the job! Can anybody help? .... or shall I throw myself at the mercy of my dealer's parts Department -I would rather go armed with the part nos. myself though! yours Confused of Ringwood |

I do not think you can use the existing one because it is very hard to remove it from the "glass" original grill. The best thing to do would be to buy one from your local dealer or find one on ebay. And i agree with you the grill really looks good on the NHB Civic. Cheers |

Update. More pics
A little update. The M8s screws could also be a M6s. I am not sure, sorry.
