That is some thing i have to live with. I like the red badge, or perhaps a white one if i find one.

did you need part number 3 on those pics, or will the one that is fitted on the 5door work?

Is the red badge glued on? or just held in place with some screws through the 2 holes in the centre of the grill? (wild guess)

Sure about that? Is it exactly the same size?

Could somebody who got the Type-R grill remove the normal H from the original grill?

(The red H Type-R Badge) Is on there with dual sided tape. The 2 holes is only to fit it centered.
This is what you need:
Nr 1. 71121-SMT-E01 = Grill Mesh.
Nr 2. 71122-SMT-E01ZA = Grill Mesh holder.
Nr 4. 7500-SMT-E00 = RED Honda "Type-R" Badge, or the type of Honda badge you like.

Nr 3. 71125-SMG-E00 = Cover, right top on the pic is only the cover for the hole thing, you can use the one you got.
I bought this one, it was exactly the same as the one i had so i am sure.

Cheers

Here is the hole image.
Following the information you gave, I got this portal sign in page. You need the dealer login details to get any further. I don't suppose you could look over the dealers shoulder next time he logs in could you? LOL

Sorry about that.
You will have to contact your own dealer to get that info

I would hazzard a guess that whatever extra air does come in, most of it will have gone over / around / through the radiator, and gotten warmed up a bit

any extra flow certainly won't hurt - but not sure how much it'll help either

oh no! I think that the honda emblem were fitted with something more than a dual sided tape, this can be a problem because it can disappear...

About the Grill Mesh holder anyone knows what's the different between the 71122-SMT-E01ZA number and 71122-SMT-E11ZA? maybe the color?

And what's about de Nr 5 "Mutter trick 3mm" and all the other numbers? (except Nr 3)

Thanks!

Many thanks to RogS for the 'How to' and the pics - it looks good, and I'm tempted to change mine - not because it comes from a Type R, but because I just really like the look of it on an NHB Civic, particularly with the Image Pack front grille.

But ..... I would like to retain the black colour 'H' badge and I am unclear from the existing posts as to whether the existing one can be used or if there is another Honda Part No. which will do the job!

Can anybody help? .... or shall I throw myself at the mercy of my dealer's parts Department -I would rather go armed with the part nos. myself though!

Hello.
I do not think you can use the existing one because it is very hard to remove it from the "glass" original grill. The best thing to do would be to buy one from your local dealer or find one on ebay. And i agree with you the grill really looks good on the NHB Civic.

Cheers

Update. More pics

A little update. The M8s screws could also be a M6s. I am not sure, sorry.

I couldnt get the bottom clips off. I ended up breaking them, but the new grill was fitted very easily:
