Instal RoadPilot MicroGo without cutting any wires

Any-one tried the Roadpilot MicroGo?

Step 1:
Buy a Roadpilot MicroGo.
Buy a 5m ciggy-socket extention cable (a bit hard to find - found mine a Micro, Swedish version of Halfords)
Buy some sticky-back velcro.

Step 2:
Plug extention cable into socket in boot.
Loop it over the parcel shelf hinge

Step 3:
Push it under the trim along the side of the car, plastic sills etc.

Step 4:
Attach the end socket to the car with some sticky-back velcro.

Step 5:
Take the ciggy-socket to min usb cable from the MicroGo kit and plug it into the extention cable.
Push it in behind the dashboard heading up towards the A-pillar. No need to remove anything.

Step 6:
Attach the Roadpilot to the dash with some sticky-back velcro.

Done.
Very quick and easy to remove when parking and leaves no circle on windscreen. USB cable easily tucked down side of dash to be hidden also.

And it is all removable if you want to.

Note that it thinks I am doing 1 km/h when at stand still in the photo. I does that occaisonally.

In that last pic you can also see my 2 parking permit holders.
Very cheap - like £1 each - just stick on the windshield with adhesive tape on the clip.
Keeps parking permits and pay and display tickets from flying around.

Good idea - It looks a lot tidier than plugging it into the socket beside the driver, no cables hanging over the dashboard.

What is the thing between the pedal and the bonnet release in the second last photo ?

That is the female ciggy connector from the extention cord (running from the boot) and the male ciggy connector of the power cable to the MicroGo which has a min-usb in the other end.

It is attached with some sticky-back velcro.

I suppose you could hide it up behind the dash instead.
I may give that a go at some point.
