I wonder if Honda at some point might decide to offer such functions via software upgrade (the technical possibility is there but the car's computer is not programmed to do this, the same applies for, autolocking, homing lights, mirror folding and so on). It's all in the "firmware" - or it's not...

If you mean the 12v on the light green lead, no because this is only floating at 12v and can not supply the current needed to operate a relay. That's why it has to be fed into a transistor circuit.

Anymore updates on this?

I'd really like to buy one of those circuits if someone is selling them!

any chance of some pics of the finished circuit, it mounted in the box or even where the box is mounted? may give this a go for a spring project.

If Naresh could give us a rough idea of cost that would be great!
Unless its astonomical, like it would be from Honda dealer , I'm definitly going to take one.
Wouldn't have a clue where to start myself, animals I can do, electronics i certianly can't!

I've got all the bits except for one measly little transistor, on order tho.

Even if I can get everything soldered into the right place, I dare not apply the system as my 'Auto' drivers window won't 'Auto' and therefore Millie will have to go back to the stealers for sorting.

Don't want to upset the warrantee.

Not convenient to do that at the moment, maybe a couple of months time.

But when 'tis done I shall post the results, good or bad!

Re:

I am willing to make this if someone is willing to test the first one. Of course you would get it for free if you are willing to test it out!

I have been looking into the costing of this project. The total cost would probably be around about 40-45quid all in. This includes postage+packing, all materials and labour.

That sounds very reasonable.

Nice to know that you are not using Honda rates!

That sounds very reaosnable to me, I'd defnitly be on for buying one of those.
I'd offer to try out the first one for you but with being at Uni I won't have access to my car again until the 7th March.

Its finding time to do it really. and ordering the first one for a prototype. Will do the ordering this week and see how i get on. 7th of march might be a good target.

The cost could be slightly higher but not much higher. I will know 100% after i build the first one. I would never rip anyone off (honest guv!)

The reason i need someone to take it and test it is that i dont have my civic yet.

I suppose i have to say that in order to install this box, you will need a level of technical ability! If things go wrong, its your risk (goes without saying really hehe!)

Are you going to make a box up aswell? we could compare after we both make the first one.
