2007 Hybrid Aux Input
Hi to all on the forum.
This is my first post having just acquired a 07 Civic Hybrid, of which I am very pleased with after first three weeks of ownership. But I have a question, and hence the post. The standard 6 Disc CD player has an 'Aux' button on the dash, but there is no Aux input Jack!! I've been searching the web and found several sites (In the US) that explain how to get behind the centre console, and there find a socket that can be wired to a standard 3.5mm Jack. Problem is with my car there is no connector! I assume because my car is a UK spec and not a US car. I can't help but think that there must be a connector somewhere, perhaps on the back of the HU?? The manual shows a 3.5mm jack below the Cigar lighter, but this is an option and is not on my car. I'd like to think that there is an audio in connection somewhere, but where? Does anybody know any thing? Any advice would be gratefully received. |

Hi,
The Hybrid is a version of the JDM (Japanese) Civic and is therefore different to the European one built in Swindon. There is an optional aux-in for the Hybrid I have heard, as you say. I would suggest investigating what the cost for this is. The connectors on the back of the HU will not be standard 3,5mm jack or anything like that. See: Need help with Aux-In (Pics inc.) There is plenty of info in the Wiki on how to arrange an AUX-in for the Euro Civic, but for yours it will be different. Hi, and thanks for the feedback. Your comments were as I expected, and I believe that I will have to talk to Honda and see what is available. I can't help but think that any wiring harness would be very expensive and perhaps difficult to fit (ie stripping down the dash). For the US version it seems simple ...
Center Console removal for Aux input install - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum Pinout for Aux Input on LX - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum And an easy project that I hoped would work on my car. But it seems my version, as you say the Japanese Civic (Which looks identicle to the US version) does not have this connector. |

Don't forget that the CD player plays MP3 and WMA files too, so if you get 6 CDs and put your WMA/MP3's on those, you can load them into the CD changer and you won't need to connect an MP3 player as you'll have thousands of tracks.

Hi LNT, thanks and I'm already there, and I'm more than a little impressed with the Honda entertainment system. I've currently got more than I want loaded and I've still got one CD slot free!!!
I do though spend a bit too much time watching the display. I do like Blue LED's. Sad!!! But the main reason I'm looking for the Aux input is I want to buy a sat nav. If I could link it to the cars audio I would spend the extra money on a sat nav that can play MP3's, and via the Bluetooth hands free the phone. All through the cars Audio, must be the way forward, but HOW!! |

Hi,
I have just got my Hybrid 2008, it has the Aux port just under the lighter/power socket. It has a flip down cover & It looks like a normal 3.5 jack behind it. Hope this helps Colin |

Thanks Colin, it must be something that they now add as standard, the 08 that I test drove had the socket that you mention, assumed that it would be on my 07, but wrong.
When I get time I will have contact Honda for an answer. Hope that you enjoy the new car, I've had mine just 4 weeks and have enjoyed every minute, different from other cars I've owned, but in a nice way. |

2007 Hybrid Aux Input
Hi Hybrid07
Sorry to learn that your 07 has no Aux port that I mentioned, strange. I am enjoying the new car very much thanks (I say "the new car" because it a company car, so not really my own) I have found it very smooth and easy to drive. Its the EX so the extras are great. |

My Honda 2008 Civic doesnt have a aux port, because it's an ES model. So I bought a Tunebase, but it is dissapointing for a new 2008 car not to have one.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...s/DCP_9695.jpgI think you would need to take part of the dash off. Why not try a Tunebase, I bought one and it recharges the ipod whilst playing.
