Newby with Civic 1.4 IMA
Hi Guys and Giggles!
Have just purchased a 2004 55 reg Civic 1.4 IMA as we will be in the congestion charge zone in London very soon. It still has 8 months of warranty left and the dealer suggests that we take out an other 1-3 years extended warranty (£399-£999!). Now with all that technology under the bonnet I am at a bit of loss whether this is a good idea or not. Does anyone out there have an opinion on this one? Is there an IMA/hybrid section to this forum? It might be a good idea as these vehicles are beginning to fly off the shelves at an alarming rate...it's a real seller's market here in London. Glad to be aboard. Cheers! |

Theres not a section at the minute, maybe if you ask one of the mods nicely they would make one. Its something thats going to become an issue over the next few years!

comparison
We should make a comparison of the quality problems experienced by new Civic IMA drivers, and other new Civics. Although there are less hybrids on the road I bet they are better put together as they are built in Japan. I think Honda is in too much of a rush to get as many new Civics out there and corners are being cut in design and production.
Please take note Honda and up the quality again! These good folks here will only take so much and now the Civic costs more your target market will look elsewhere. I have had Hondas for years and I am hanging on to my Civic until I see an improvement in design and quality, if not I will buy a Golf or a Volvo C30. |
