New Hybrid

Picked up the Hybrid today. Nighthawk Black, Ivory Leather, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it DID have electric folding mirrors, along with everything else.

Nice picture and nice car. I've tested the IMA but I didnt like the gear box and was baffled by the shape of the new civic and by the diesel engine . So instead of the IMA we ordered a 2.2 I-CTDI

You know what, the Hybrid is a real grower.....I'm really starting to like the shape of those now, especially in NHB.......it'd be lovely to see one with some nice 18" alloys on, but then I'm guessing that the kind of person who buys a Hybrid isn't exactly into 'Pimping' their ride much.......!!!!

BTW, I meant nobody any offence by that last comment.......

Thanks for your kind comments. My last car was a Mercedes SLK, so I've gone from one extreme to the other, but so far so good. Only done about 15 miles as I had things to do today locally, but the MPG is showing around 40mpg. The auto box is excellent (I will never buy a manual again, and haven't for about 10 years) and because it's CVT, you just don't experience that jerk when it changes gear. It might well get a bit noiser at higher speeds, but lots of driving will be fairly local, so I'm prepared for that. Up to 40mph it's very quiet. I just hope more Hybrid owners will join the forum so I'm not Billy no mates....

Edit: Yes, I'll get a dash pic tomorrow.

Think I was on foreign shores when you joined the forum - so a belated welcome

Oh and by the way that it one SEXY motor

( Nearly went for the Hybrid but the Civic is driven by my mum more than
myself and she wasn't sure about the hybrid bit)

Another Hybrid on order...

LNT,
You will not be alone for too long. I have had a Galaxy Grey on order since January (dealer thinks delivery in June ) but there is no ivory option with that colour so had to order grey leather.
I have a manual HCH I (the previous model) on short term lease at the moment and regularly get 65-70 average mpg over distances of up to 130 miles.
Can't wait for the new one and the CVT gearbox......

Thanks for the photos.

Are there any other new features for 2007 apart from the folding mirrors?

Thanks!

I don't know what's on the 2007 that wasn't on the 2006 so I can't say really. The folding mirrors is the one I notice different from the brochure.

Hi LNT

I hope you're enjoying your Civic Hybrid. I've had mine for 10 months now and still can only think of the one thing that it's missing... When garaging it I'd love for the folding mirrors!!

Looking at the interior of your car in post 13 below I can't see any difference to the controls on the drivers door to mine. I thought the dead switch next to the window lock button was for the folding mirrors where fitted. Where are you controlling them from?

Thanks

Hello LNT, very nice pics. I think we shall be going "Hybrid" in the not too distant future.
