Thats a very thorough write up, very detailed and the figures quoted where phenomenal, it does however looks like an extremely dull way of driving and isn't for me!
Very useful guide for Hybrid owners here though, consider sticking it in the wiki. |

It's all a game
Actually driving like that is quite addictive. It is just like trying to beat your best score on your favourite video game and you get real time feedback of how well you are doing.
Seeing 69mpg over 130+ miles in my current previous generation Civic Hybrid is just as much fun as thrashing my Type-R was, but in a different way. Have a go if you get the chance. |

Wow that Tara has way to much time on her hands! Me? I've got a life, and that includes giving my Civic a good blast evey now then! The the grin on my face is well worth the 2-3 mpg reduction.

That's going to the Nth degree isn't it, and, of course on USA roads, where traffic is lighter, the chance of an an uninterrupted drive is greater, and therefore, the opportunities to do fantastic MPG are greater. I'm sure if I travelled Route 66 or Highway 97 at 55mph on cruise control for 1000 miles, it would show an amazing mpg...As it is, I'll have to make do with my 45ish mpg, which isn't too shabby considering my previous car did about 25mpg.
BlueMan, just you wait until you see your car and you check the tax disk and see £15...and I hope the dealer has made sure that it's reflected in you OTR package! |

I'm used to p!ss poor fuel economy though, so quite frankly, if it's over 30mpg I'm laughing, but as the miles go on, and the trips to the garage become ever fewer, and the mpg monitor gets ever bigger, I'm getting even happier!
