Took delivery of my new Galaxy Grey yesterday, about a month earlier than expected when it was ordered at the start of the year.
A bit of a step up in terms of refinement compared to the HCHI that I have been driving around in for the last few months. Very pleased with it but have found the first annoyance...you have to keep your foot on the brake when stopped otherwise it comes out of Auto Stop and restarts the engine. On the HCHI you could select neutral, handbrake on, and sit in silence waiting for the lights to change or traffic to start moving again. Will be a pain for anyone behind at night being dazzled by the brake lights while I am stopped. Another odd experience re mpg. The car only had 9 miles on it when delivered. First journey was 130 miles to home but I forgot to reset the A and B trip before starting out. The average mpg started in the teens and was VERY slow to climb even though the instantaneous gauge was showing 50-70 mpg most of the time. When it had crawled up to about 40 mpg I reset the B trip and it instantly showed 60-70 mpg and ended up in the high 50s at the end of the journey. Makes you wonder what they did in the factory and supply chain for those 9 miles! I guess it might also be some kind of hidden forced charging for the first few miles but the charge gauge didn't really show that. Any owners seen something similar with their new cars? No photos yet but I'm working on it. Overall.... |

Colours...
Skippy,
When you try and describe Galaxy Grey it sounds really horrible but when you actually see it you get quite a surprise at how good it looks, especially on the Hybrid. I've had Nighthawk (CTR, and yes it did always look dirty except for the 10 secs after waxing it Photos on the way if/when it ever stops raining long enough to take them..... |
