roofrack

A work colleague has just collected his Civic Hybrid and because of the need to carry ladders etc was thinking about a roofrack.

Has anyone got roof bars already, Honda or aftermarket?

If so how much?

On another subject altogether, the car has fabric seats and seat heaters. Is this standard on Civic Hybrids, or is this possibly an import?

You certainly don't get heated fabric seats in the conventional Civics. I would have loved that last winter!

Odd!

It is a fleet car and has taken 14 weeks to arrive.

Where would Honda build RH Drive cars for that had heated fabric seats?

Scotland I hear it's cold up there and can take 14 weeks to find some of the remote places.

I have the roof bars on the standard 5 door civic 2006. If it is the same procedure for fitting as the 5 door hatch then it is hideous. You have to cut (with a hacksaw) the roof strips at certain points to access the bolt's in the roof. You then get four plastic covers to go over the holes in your roofstrips.
Was not happy doing this at all on a car 5 week's old.

Best of luck

How much did you have to pay for that (I'm assuming that it was the official Honda accessory)?

As I understand it, the Hybrid saloon was made initially for the japanese and US market's as they like their "Sedans". I suspect fitting a roof rack, therefore, may not be like a 5 door. But I could be wrong.

roof rack

Hi,

I got the hybrid with the original honda roof rack, you don't need to make any modifications to you car. It is a very simple system to mount them.

the rack is compatible with the new Thule standard. So be aware that if you want to use a box that you need one of the new Thule boxes. The bars of the rack are approx. 8 cm wide, which is to wide for older boxes.

Heated fabric seats are standard in the Hybrid. We have them too.
