http://www.businessweek.com/ap/finan.../D9DFOK2G0.htm

What does this mean?

Basically if China and Taiwan are exporting more goods, thus having more income into their economy they can buy more domestic items whether they be Chinese or Japanese made.

With more Chinese products being exported the USD will start to weaken back to a more realistic level (2.0 USD to the £ would be nice).

With the Euro/£ importing more from China and our own economies stabalising you should see a decrease in Yen value over the next 4-6 months.

The recovery will be gradial until it stabalises around a nice figure.
As soon as financial institutions are comfortable in their native countries we'll see the Yen Carry Trade resume (borrowing high amounts, trillions of Yen - at very low interest rates, invest that money into constructions, investment funds etc in the West then pay back almost what you borrowed) which will push the Yen back to its "normal" rate.

I am no expert but from experiences of how the Yen works, this, could be a nice future for the Yen in 2010.

Thumbs down

I take it Toyota's international headlines haven't done the value of the Yen any good this week
