I want a Civic and joined to get the Lowdown.
Hi,
My name is Sam. I currently drive a Ford Cougar which I love but is very thirsty! Early next year my commute is going to become around 35-40miles a day so unfortunately the Cougar has to go. My requirements when choosing what car to get were basically - moon on a stick, please! Then I saw a review for the 2.2 diesel Civic So through the wonders of Google, I found this site and joined up to find out the good, the bad and the ugly of owning a Civic. So thats my hello Last edited by Samstan; 5th December 2007 at 21:35. |

Thanks for the welcome.
I'll be buying nearly new probably so I probably have less choice of colour. To be honest I like all the Honda colours (less keen on the Champagne Silver though). My current car is silver and the Civic does look good (plus silver doesn't show the muck quite as quick!). If I had a choice the heart says black but the head says red or silver Oh and when I get one a sticker is a definite possibility (I have owner club stickers in my Cougar). |

Hi welcome Sam
The Civic is a great car. If mileage high Diesel is the way to go. However the petrol is a great engine and very happy with it. For my low mileage couldn't justify the increased purchase price and greater servicing cost. The Petrol also warms up much quicker and the heater is working in a few minutes. Either way great cars - you won't be disappointed |

Welcome sam,
As the guys say if you cover a fair distance each day the diesel may be the better engine choice Look at Galaxy Grey aswell - looks stunning when clean and the sun just bounces off it and hides the dirt fairly well when required aswell good luck with your hunt |
