About to buy Type R GT

Hello all

I've just joined this forum as I'm about to buy a brand new Red Type R GT with 19" Rage alloys...

Test drove one last week and it was amazing... never revved a car so high in my life... it just kept on going!

Can't wait!

Welcome to the forum, great choice of car and colour. You'll love it, trust me.

Are you going to run it in? I think everyone gives the demonstrators a good hiding, I know I did.

Running in... What's the recommended rev limit/mileage for running in? My previous cars had no requirement for this.... Cooper S, Audi TT...
mmm not sure I'll be able to keep off the throttle but I will if I have to!

You don't have to, but have a read of this and make you own mind up. It's is tempting not to and just drive it hard from day one I must admit.

Congtrats! Youll love it!
You decide how you run it, but i run it hard on medium revs first 20 miles then try to keep it working after that but even on high revs

Great choice. Lots of happy 'R' owners on here and lots of good advice to be had.
You are really lucky to get your car so quickly. Lots have had to wait 3 months or more.
