Sad and Happy

Hi

All being well, I take delivery of my Civic 2.2 Sport this evening. It replaces my 05 Subaru Impreza STi UK PPP, which makes me sad, but the financial savings will make me happy! It's our second trip to the dealer in a fortnight, as we traded our petrol 05 Saab 9-5 Estate for an 06 Accord Tourer 2.2 Sport; an excellent car and one that persuaded me to part the with Scoob.

Wish me luck please!

Back when the Golf 150PD came out, there were plenty of guys doing what you are doing now. And you'd be amazed at how quickly the scooby guys grew to like the diesel... Give the Civ 5000 miles, though, at first it's a bit of a rattly old underpowered dog. And book it in for a superchips remap and all will be well with the world.

Welcome Toonman. The Civic will put a smile on your face, and it'll be far more economical than the Subaru.

Hi

Many thanks for the very warm welcome.

The handover went well. Another immaculate car from Springfield in Durham! We only had the chance to stick 100 or so miles on it last night (done 2100 when collected), but it's averaging 45+MPG, which's better than the 38 of the Accord Tourer. Still, better than the 19 of the Subaru or 23 of the Saab. We're delighted with both car cars however.

I'll miss the Impreza - 7 from new since April 1994 - but it does (or did) less than 50 miles a week now, and it's just not realistic. The saving we can make are huge. I won't miss the Saab, but that's another story!

I'll post pics over the weekend.

Mike - you'll be too busy enjoying the Civic to keep remembering your Impreza !!! Glad it all went well and looking forward to seeing the pics.

Toonman,

Are you a bit of a photographer?

Looks like those shots were taken in the Magic Hour with a polarized filter!

Very nice shots!
