The newbies just keep on coming
Hi I'm Steve from Sheffield
Just put deposit on a 2.2 ICTDI SE cosmic grey, registered 19/03/06 and done 2400 miles - drove to warrington to check out the car and was not disappointed - supagaurded and pristine, was after a Sport model but can live with the alloys and other minor missing bits. Think I need to get some fog lights on it though as the plastic inserts are a bit bland (especially against grey) and now considering parking sensors after reading all your comments here. I do hope the car is everything I think it will be, was blown away by all the reviews on Diesel as I was previously a Dirty Diesel hater, but after driving 2 now I was a total convert and may struggle to get back in a petrol car again?? Thanks for all the hints posted on this site - most great and a few bad like the rear window seperating and leaking water, dodgy rear shockers etc etc. Hey I'm sure every car has its teething problems though - oh and can I get a cheap spare wheel?? Speak later |

If you got it from Honda Sheffield what is the name of the ex "famous footballer" who works there?
Plenty of good roads round Sheffield to try your motor out. I am sure you will enjoy it. |

Thanks to all for the welcome messages - in reply to Fedorov I get the car on Wednesday night if all goes to plan - trading in a Focus and cannot wait to get rid, wife drives a Jazz and that is a far better car (albeit a bit girly) than the Focus ever could be.
Just had a puncture this morning on the Focus - I think it senses that the time is drawing near!! Just been out washing the shed so it's all nice and clean for the handover and now in the eye if a thunder storm!! Catch you later.. I've not made 1 day without checking out this site yet!! |

Hi HondaHeaven, Hope the Civ lives up to expectations. As far as a spare wheel goes, I would try negotiating one before you drive away from the showroom or else be prepared to pay out when you have a puncture

Are you another company car buyer with a free reign on the options lists?? or is the car bought and paid for with blood, sweat and tears?
Must admit the budget set for the new car was going up and up but I just knew a 2.2 EX would have been out of reach. |

Well impressed with the performance of the 2.2, was a bit noisier than I remembered but you certainly do not find the power lacking, 1st gear hardly gets used there's that much torque. Do agree that the cons would be: rear view is worse than I remembered, no spare wheel (must contact Honda!!) seat fabric looks very smart but could be a pain with a 2 year old little girl (arghhhh) as the cold weather starts to arrive I'm sure I'll miss the rear wiper etc..... But all said and done the Civics pro's far out weigh the cons and I have had so many looks and comments already!! Cannot wait to get to work on it and get it cleaned to my standard and order some parking (CISCO) sensors, oh and I cannot believe the exhaust are for show only!! I guess the dirty diesel smoke would make the back of the car black??. Bye for now |
