Unhappy Greetings Fellow Civvies!

Well I have just joined the club with my purchase last weekend of a 15 month old '56' plate EX model with less than 10K on the clock. After testing and haggling I proudly drove it home, put it in the garage and came back to it tonight.

Imagine my disappointment when I went to unlock it and nothing happened! So I opened the door with the key in the lock and it was totally dead, yet when I drove it in 3 days ago it was just fine. Now I am charging the battery overnight in the vain hope this will get me up and running so fingers crossed but something is obviously not right here.

So I went to Google as you do and searched on "Honda Civic flat battery" and lo and behold I found Civicinfo! Something good came of it anyway and here I am. So if anyone has any suggestions on the power problem please email me before I call in a dealer. Pete.

If it had been sitting at the dealer for a while, it may have discharged.

Once this happens you really need a new battery.

Also, several theories around flat batteries, like the driver door switchgear, are common to all Civics and also petrol cars have been known to have flat batteries.
