Smile Hello

Hello everybody, how's it going?

Just a quickie to introduce myself. I've had my nighthawk black type s gt for about six weeks now and got to say I love it. This is the fourth Honda I've owned - the others being a red and black CBR600, a metalic green CRX 1.6 esi convertable (with full electric pack - was pretty cool but a bit underpowered) and a pirate black type r accord (I loved this car). Been on the website a few times now - some really good stuff on here. I thought I had a problem with the rev leds on the dash until I read one of the articles and found out that you have to give it a bit of welly. Also thought I had problems with the rear windscreen heater not working at the top until another article said that this was the ariel. Thankfully I didn't go and make a numpty of myself in the dealers .

One thing I would like to ask is have any of you had any problems with second gear? I sometimes have a problem with getting into second and it takes a bit of double clutching - bit of a pain when you are pulling off or trying to pull round a corner. Took it back to the garage and they said that they would have a look. When I got it back they said they had adjusted it and to give it a go. If this didn't work they would replace the oil. Does this sound like a plan?

Not such a quickie after all

Thanks for any help

Otto

Welcome Otto,

Which engine / gearbox do you have?

The Type R has a known issue with 3rd.
There are software upgrades available for some i-shift cars.

Welcome to the forum Otto.

No problem with 2nd in my CTR but I agree with FWH - 3rd can be reluctant.

Hi Wasser098, FWH. Mines a 1.8 petrol with a six shift box. I have seen an article on here that refered to the third gear problem but only had a quick look and can't for the life of me find it now (did I dream it?). Will have another word with the guys at Holdcroft. Thanks for the replies.

3rd gear problem is Type R only.

Evening Otto,

I also have had an intermittent problem with second (Type S GT), took it back to the dealer who did a test drive with me and, of course, the problem didnt occur. They have promised to look at it if the problem persists.

Hello all. Will get it booked in again this afternoon hopefully for this Saturday. Will let you know what happens. There seems to be water in the rear lights as well - they can have a look at it while it's in.

Unfortunately it's one of the problems with the Space Ship.

Honda didn't expect water to accumulate in the rear lights or on the rear window either!

Welcome to the club anyway.

Enjoy your stay!

......everything else about the Space Ship is great!

He was charged with shoplifting on two counts!"
