Bonjour fellow Francophile.
Enjoy your new car on the excellent French roads! Watch out for those mobile radar checks - I was fined for driving at 117km/hr in a 110km/hr limit (+4mph over)! A fine of 48Euros + 1 penalty point. Trista. |

Thanks guys for the very warm welcome.
Trista/I-Noel, I presume you both have lh drive cars too. Would you happen to know how many Sat-Nav discs should be supplied with a car to France? I've searched the Sat-Nav threads & seem to understand that there should be 2 (Europe West & Europe East), by mine came with just the one (Europe West) which was installed in the player, and an empty case in the glove box. Cheers, |

Eastern Europe is only just beginning to exist to those at Honda when it comes to the Sat Nav, so you may have to wait for the eastern european disc(if there is one)
I say this because when I went to purchase my car last August I was told that the Sat Nav map ended at the border of Germany! I was told when I collected my car that the maps and sat nav systems for eastern europe would be available from April this year! |

FWH/Happy Man,
Looks like you've answered my query, thanks. My disc version is 20060616, / 1.57.06, which I note from SatNav threads is the latest. Trista, As you say the roads are pretty good here, but pain in the butt about your speeding fine. Which is why I've got my eye on the new Navirad Elite detector, which has good review in recent L'Argus mag. Awaiting it's release in April. Cheers |

Sorry PF,
My beloved Civic is not equipped with the Honda GPS System (I've a Nüvi device) soI can't answer to you. And you're right, a dectector is very usefull to remind you what are the speed limits applicable on the motorway. Last time I went to Aix en Provence I've been measured at 130 in a 110 area... and I was sure I was noty speeding, but my database was not uptated. |
