Soon-to-be a new Type-S owner

Hi there !! Here’s another newby from the Netherlands.

My background:
Living near Rotterdam and waiting for a new Type-S 1.8.
First car was in 1988: Honda Civic from 1984 (MK3).
Started with 40k and ended with 220k without major problems.
Still waiting for my new Type-S.

Second car was in januari 1996: a new Civic 1.5 DXi (MK5).
Started with obviously 0k and ended with 265k without any problems.
Until last month, when he needed some repairs which costs more than the actual value of the car. So with regret I had to get rid of it.
Oh, and still waiting for my new Type-S.

So now I’m driving a Suzuki Swift for the time being.
Ouch, that is some difference with the Civic !!!

For a few months I was already sorting things out of what I wanted (obvious a Civic), because the DXi was becoming too old with too much km’s.
So this repairs of the DXi sped some things up.
Finally I decided what it should be and ordered it.
It will be the Civic Type-S 1.8 (didn’t I mentioned this before??) in Tangerine Orange with Xenon-headlights (HID?), DVD sat-nav and Advantage-package (in UK known as GT).
And some options: Automatic dimming rear-view mirror, front and rear mudguards, rear parking sensors and the City pack (front, rear and side protectors).
Unfortunately I have to wait 5 months for delivery…
So I will struggle along in the Swift until july/august.

Do you now understand why I’m waiting, really, really waiting for the Type-S ?????

BTW: Excellent site with lots of information and friendly helpful people on it !!!

Hi rlvh, and welcome to the best Civic forum on the web

5 months is a long time to wait, I don't think I would have had the patience.
You have to think of yourself as lucky in some respects. In the UK, we don't even get the option of HID lamps on the Type S

BTW, your are now 14 minutes closer to owning that car

Thanks and yes it's a long time. But else I should have to take a car that wasn't completely my choice.
And now it is !!!

You don't have the HID, but we don't have the glassroof...

Even the hours ain't going fast enough, so I'm not even counting the minutes!!!
