Have been a proud Civic owner since March, but only recently discovered this (brilliant) website.
Best thing about the Civic: That engine! Worst thing about the Civic: The suspension does leave a lot to be desired, and its getting noisier by the day! In its defence though, my previous car was a Citroen C5 which had absolutely superb suspension, so I guess anything would feel a bit "industrial" after that. I also live in Dewsbury, which isn't blessed with the best maintained roads in the country, to say the least. Things I love about the Civic: Its looks. 58mpg The steering wheel. It just looks so cool. I know it's a totally trivial feature, but I was just insanely pleased when I discovered the speedo works when you're going backwards! Things I dislike about the Civic: Still not convinced about that plastic fuel filler cap. The shiny curved bit of the dash - I've found that when the sun comes from low over my right shoulder the reflections off this bit of the dash are absolutely blinding. |

If the suspension is making lots of noise, you will need to go the dealer, and get the rear dampers replaced for free under warranty. |

Hello and welcome to the club! This website really is the place for us Civic pilots.
I agree with many of the points you've made about the car, you'll find several threads about the suspension and dashboard. Is that Dewsbury West Yorkshire you hail from? If it's anything like the rest of the Wakefield area I suppose most roads will have speed humps every 20 metres. I have to slow down to 10mph for some of them in my village, so rigid is the suspension. |

Welcome, Dewsbury was my birth place, I can agree with the roads being poor, but I think that goes for the whole of W Yorks. not just Dewsbury. Glad to have another member from up t'North. Last edited by richierich; 23rd September 2006 at 11:02. Reason: Spelling - Just for a change |

Yes, that is Dewsbury in West Yorkshire.
And, yes the roads around the whole of West Yorkshire aren't up to much, but Batley/Dewsbury just seems to be that little bit more neglected than Wakefield for example. Are us northern members in a bit of a minority then? |
