Introduction and some comments

I have been visiting the forum for about 6 months and became a member in early January, just after ordering my 08 1.8 ES I-Shift. It was delivered on schedule on 1st March and I decided to hold back from making my first post until I had one month's experience with it. This was my first car purchase for 33 years, having retired and had company cars for 30 years, the most recent being 2 years with an Accord CDTi.

So far, after 2000 miles, the car has exceeded expectations.

Rough road noise is poor, but tyre/road noise is better than my Accord.
Performance is better than expected (switch to petrol after 8 years of Diesels).
Fuel consumption better than expected.
I-Shift far better than expected and vastly improved from my two test drives in August and December 07.
I have not noticed that anybody has posted that the 08 I-Shift CO2 value has dropped to 150 gm/km, (£115 on 1st March) placing it in the new band F for next year with the same tax (£120) as the 2008-2009 year.

I look forward to joining in discussions as time and experience progresses.

Welcome to the Space Station DJ

I hadn't noticed until your post about the new CO2 value going down!

I was under the impression that it had gone up with the 'new formula' i-Shift, and I was hesitant in going for an up-grade.

Now I will have to have words with my stealer ASAP

Cheers!

I too registered an 08 1.8 I-Shift on March 1st. My V5C shows it as 152 G/KM CO2. Could this be because mine is an EX on different tyres?

My upgraded EX i-shift ticket cost me £140.

As Charles said, I thought it was on the up with the upgraded software ?
