It is a lot different outside, and a litle different inside...I like the sedan outside better, and perhaps the 3,5 Doors are nicer inside...but...I am a sedan guy, and it is the same 1.8 iVTECH

Szia Mitokde!
I too am in Budapest and received my new 1.8 i-Vtec just yesterday! I bought it in Kecskemet though, having waited 6 months in total. In the UK, only the hybrid version comes in this shape. However, in Europe you can ask for it with the i-Vtec also. It's a great engine actually! From a review I read, the petrol engined version of the saloon is made in Turkey rather than England. And, of course, the interior is completely different from the hatchback. Either way, the front end in particular looks great. And they say it drives really well too. So I hope everything goes well for you Mitokde! And when you do pick it up, don't forget the checklist that's available on this site! |

thank you all for the welcome! I'll surely share the black beast pictures once I own the car. Also did see the checklist, and I am shocked about how many things can be wrong while the dealer is smiling at you over your 0km car. Not sure how applicable to the 4d they are...also I think mine is mfgd in Turkey with mostly Jap (not EU) parts...but will check every documented feature for sure + the hints on the forum.
Thanks again, Dezso |

Welcome to the club, I look forward to seeing some pics in black as I really don't like that colour in the pic...
How does the Sedan compare in price to the 5 door version? I can't think of many better places to drive a new Civic that Budapest, it's one of my favourite Capital cities in Europe. |

JB, I laughed out loud when I read your comment! As beautiful as the city is, it's one of the worst places you could ever wish to drive a car. They're nuts on the roads here!!!
In Budapest, every day is Hungarian Grand Prix day... |

I know! I've had a few hair-raising rides in the back of cabs and minibuses, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go nontheless. Perhaps at 5am on a Summer morning though.
If every day's Hungarian Grand Prix day I guess that means no overtaking then |

Bugger, you got me with that one JB! Can I take it back?
Trust me though it all happens here. That's also why I have as my signature "Additional theft counter measures installed". Aside from everyone trying to hospitalize you on the highways, they'll also try to pinch your ride! |

Well...driving in Hungary is an experience...yes there are more holes on the roads than any other central or western EU countries. Yes, if you have a car with standard alarm and immobilizer...nothing extra, then when you come out of a cinema you say "wow my car is still here", and yes there are a lot of idiot drivers...not as many as I found in Italy (Florence) though

Well...actually I was living in a few countries, let me share my feelings about driving there:
-Hungary: see above, not too bad, can learn live with it...this is my Home -Italy: First time I landed in Florence and took a cab, I thought I was going to die in that cab. Was scared to death...it took a few months to get used to using 5 lanes where 3 painted and live with ignoring red lights. Also the Fiat Puntos I found very dangerous on highways...I think they thought they have a sportcar just because the rear wing or sg. -USA, SC and GA: they drive annoying slow. Once I did 160Km/h on open highway as I found confortable and friends warned me that I can easily spend the night in custody for that. I did not get to love automatic, and I found very hard to understand how can a 3L V6 engine in a car so powerless as 150BHP. Same engine in Europe are over 200BHP -Germany: No speed limit right? I did love that, most of the time I used a BMW 116, and it did easily go 210Km/h...but you are not safe there with that low speed on the highway...only if you have a car that has removed performance/speed limitation of 250Km/h and it can go beyond...so I was shocked to learn that with driving arround 200...I still have to watch the mirror. Those are my first thoughts from my memories....any comments? |

Hello!
I'm Vucctok from Hungary, Budapest as well. I have got an alabaster silver metalic 5d civic since may. We run 16000km together till now. Our family is a great Honda fan. Nowadays we have 2 new civic (2.2Diesel EXE, 1.8Sport), 7th gen 1.6 Sport civic, and a new accord. I like this civic much, I sold 2 older civic (7th gen 1.4 5door and a 6th gen 1.4 3d civic) for this. I never love a car so much like this. I'm fall in love since I first saw it in the pictures from Geneve Auto Exhibition. I'm very proud to own this and I was very lucky I had to wait for this car only 2 mounth. |
