Back from my hols in a new car!

Went on holiday for a week and ended up driving home in a Civic! Still not sure how it happened

Decided to have a test drive; talked money; walked away; talked some more money; had another test drive and before I knew it a 08 pre-reg ES in Alabaster Silver was mine

The 200 mile drive home was bliss. Much quiter and more comfortable than my previous car - Fabia Vrs. Feels more powerful too. Love the glass roof and the cruise control. Just about getting used to the rear window

Cheers & hello

Simon

Good choice I got the petrol its ok but drove a diesel last Friday and loved it, I did not test drive the diesel when I brought my Civic because I have always driven petrol cars and just went for the same. I was suprised how refined the diesel was and the torque is tremendous, I am seriously thinking of P/Ex mine for the diesel irrespective of the price of fuel

This is my third diesel car now - not convinced that I do the mileage to jutify the additional cost, but I just love the way they drive! No diesel is going to be that great off the mark but where it counts in the mid-range you cant beat it for my money.

On its first 200 mile trip it registered 49mpg - that was with a fair bit of 'playing' And assuming I can read the info-panel correctly Should improve as the engine loosens.

Bearing in mind you wont actually be getting 49mpg, the trip computer usually reads over. I know some guys on here calculate quite regulary. Think 49mpg equates to 45mpg or so. Still good tho I get 39mpg most of the time now...
