Unhappy A new hope!

Many thanks for the guys who have put this site together and all it's contributors. I have been a Civic owner for 6 months and in this time the car has been beset by niggling problems, many of which have been experienced by others on this site (scratched dash on delivery, rattles, wandering steering etc), I was starting to think I was cursed until I found this site.

This is my first experience of Honda, the innovative, futuristic design really catching my imagination however I am currently thinking that perhaps a little more development time should have been allowed before rushing from 'concept' to showroom (although I realise many new models are in effect tested in the field). With only 4,000 on the clock the interior is already looking a bit tired (poor choice of materials especially cloth) and the lack of sensitivity in the throttle pedal can make around town driving uncomfortable.

All this said, so many peple have commented positively on the cars design and I love the power delivery of the i-VTEC, the handling is also excellent even if at the cost of 'crashing' on poor road surfaces.

Overall a case of style over substance I fear.

Welcome SJ, I'm pleased to say that apart from the drivers seat refusing to slide on the lowest setting, my Ex has been totally fault free. I agree about the interior and had mine replaced with leather (see 'Gallery - Bespoke Leather Club'). Well worth it; I am soooo pleased with the result.

I'm currently testing upgrades for the rear turn indicators and interior map lights (see 'Lights - Rear Turn Indicators').

Hey SJ, I have had a few problems, but slowly getting them put right, but as quickly as the list is shortening the squeaks keep coming.

I still love the car and would recommend one.
