Hello all

I'm yet another civic owner from the US, although I drive a 7th gen civic. Nothing special at all so I won't bore with pictures, but I decided to sign up and get a taste of a culture with *gasp* manners.

If anyone has any questions about the US civic please feel free to ask, if I don't have the answer I'm positive that another new member here (Dozer) will be able to.

Anyways, I'm going to go troll around and look at some beautiful hatchbacks now.

I just want to say that I am insanely jealous of you all for living across the pond. I've only made it to the 2nd page in the Photography Competition thread and the beauty that you all are surrounded by is breathtaking. I hope that one day my girl and I have the opportunity to move over there and just get to travel for a while and soak in the history.

BTW, thanks very much for the welcome.

Trust me bud, the worst bits of your country is better than the best of America. Not to get too political or anything, but in my personal opinion America has outlived the few contributions that it has made to the world. I wish that it was run by a different government just because it has the potential to be such a beautiful place, but all our great locations are paved over to put a new wal-mart up without a second thought.

Don't even get me started on how you rarely find people with simple manners. I think this smilie is pretty accurate:

Sorry, I hope I didn't overstep my boundaries by posting that, I'm just a very opinionated person and have the tendency to share those opinions with anyone that's open to discuss them.

As for all the other welcomes, thank you very much. I have had a lot of fun just lurking about here and not only do I look forward to being a more active member, I look forward to living somewhere in Europe in the future.

Welcome to civinfo!!

I have only been to Florida and there is some stunning countryside there. Also, as FLA houses Mickey, it is very much geared to holiday makers, but even so I found people very friendly away from the main resorts as have stayed where locals live, we would like to do the opposite to you and live in Florida!! Granted you will always find some people need/don't have manners, that applies over here as well.

Nice to see more Americans on civinfo, although I have to admit loving some of the small sports cars you have over there - Pontiac have a gorgeous 2 seater, the Solstice GXP........ pity it's not sold over here. Pontiac | 2008 Solstice GXP Roadster Photo Gallery | Sports Car

Oh yes, the Solstice GXP is a very nice car indeed. Although, I like it's brother, the Sky Redline:

But to be fair, y'all are blessed with Alfa Romeo's while the closest that we come to that is.. Well.. probably Saturn (GM).

As far as Florida is concerned, I stayed in a condo there for a week (on Jacksonville Beach) and I did have a bit of fun. But that's an interesting thing about here in America, when you visit you meet nice people and see nice places, but when you move there all of a sudden this huge dragon of rude people and crime surfaces. I would say that unless you're ready to be hated by the whole world (rightfully so with our country's recent endeavors), you might want to stay in Europe.

One thing that I love about Europe is it actually has history. I really think that the lack of history and the rapid progression of the US in its short existence really gives it a soulless feel. Plus, it seems that most of this country's inhabitants are arrogant and have no idea that there's actually more to the world than just burgers, drugs, and cheating on your spouse.

Sorry for the rant, I would really enjoy to hear the opinions that you across the pond folk have on America.

have been across the pond many times and have always received a very warm welcome.

One of my favourite places is Charleston SC. Lots of history and beautiful architecture there. Great food too!

I'm not really a fan of cities though prefer the great outdoors and thats where the USA is truely amazing to me. Real wilderness. Did a trip from Las Vegas through Arizona to San Diego. Loved it. Went up into Utah and Monument Valley too. Lots of canyons less well known than the Grand Canyon but just as amazing.

Next time i want to go to Washington State (the Pallisades?) and Oregon.

Europe is so crowded in comparison. But we do have great cars

Wow, it's great to know that so many people have actually enjoyed coming here. I guess after living here for my whole life I just started to associate the people/scenery that I see every day to all of America. Well, that and the government that we have. :P

I honestly expected to hear more negative opinions towards America. I mean no offense by that at all, and I apologize if it does offend in any way, it was just my expectations. I guess Lord J. Clarkson has polluted my brain with his deep hatred for America and our salty cheeseburgers.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone, it is greatly appreciated.

Some say his left nipple is in the shape of the Nurburgring, and that his helmet has terrible eczema.
