Wannabee: patiently awaiting, but determined!

Hi there, all civinfo contributors!

I'm pleased to have found such an active and pleasing forum as this one. I think this is a 'must-have' when it come to considering a new car.
However, I would consider any Honda without a forum, especially the new Civic.

So, to cut things short: I don't own a Civic yet.

Bummer. But I'm determined to get one. One way or the other.

Although I currently driving a company car, a quite pleasing Audi A2 1.4 Tdi, I thought it was about time to return to Honda once again.

Back in 1999 I got my first Honda. A Civic Aerodeck. You know, the wagon... But I had it with really nice wheels, lowered, open air intake, strut bracing and some other nice options. I loved that car. But in 2001 it got wrecked when I Fiat Panda rear-ended me. What a loss.

After that I chose to go 'sporty'. And got a new company car: a Renault Clio 1.6 Initiale. Also lowered etc.etc. But the car was too nice, too sophisticated, didn't impress at all. And moreover, my employer went out of business so it had to go after 6 or 7 months.

Then I got myself a nice plain '92 Civic hatchback. No frills. Great fun to drive. And my first privately owned car... Served me well for a year, as a Honda should.

Then came the Audi A2. It's classy and well built, but also bores the hell out of me after over 3 years of ownership.

No such thing with the new Civic! Such a brilliant design, all over!

But I'm shouting at the wrong audience here You all love your car.

So when will I own one? I don't know yet.
My A2 is supposed to go out in about 4 months or so. And I'm not sure yet if I will keep in driving a company car. So I'm looking into owning it myself.

Well, of everything fails it will definitely still be a Civic that I'll buy. But it'll be 2nd hand Aerodeck again. Hope I can find a 1.8 vti in that case...

Until then, I'll be lurking around here, reading and watching. Thank you for bearing with me this far

Cheers,

Edo

P.S. for an active Audi A2 forum, have a look at http://www.a2oc.net/. Based on the same forum software. And with a group of people that seems as nice and active as the ones I see here. It's nice to know that I can make that switch easily!
See you all later

Thanks for your kind welcome.

My hopes are up, because yesterday I found out that my current company car is scheduled to have its contract ended by the end of Jan 2007. Due to excess mileage...
Moreover, I think I saw the current going rates for an EX CTDi version: only 15 euros more than my current A2! Or even better, how about a Sport with Storm alloys?
Can't keep my mind off of it, but have to be cool now....

So it's not new (at all) but it's a Civic!!!

Hello again!

Well, despite my earlier efforts to end up with a brand new Civic, I've decided to keep it sensible and buy myself a used Civic. A blue Civic Aerodeck, 1999, 100k mile on the clock, running on LPG. Picking it up next saturday and will have it lowered by about 30mm, cold air intake and aluminium trim bits on the inside soon after. I love it!

I'll keep my eye on this forum of course. But hope to find a 'general' Civic forum too. I don't think there's an Aerodeck forum yet...

See you around!
