Hello from Liverpool

Finally a forum that shares my pain and understands my pleasure.

After 10 years of Ford cars due to having a Ford voucher, Fiestas, Focus old and new shape ( I will say that the Focus is still one of the nicest cars to drive), but on the back of certain insurance company making a complete mess of a claim I was able to buy a different model of car, after seeing the Civic I was so impressed with the look and the Honda reputation I didnt look any further and went for the 1.8 ES in Black (my favourite colour, although technically its not a colour ). That was 9 months ago, and like pregnancy its not been without its problems, its been back to the dealer on no less than 5 occassions for problems with boot closing, petrol cap, windscreen wipers coming on all the time when on auto, radio reception when rear heater on rattle in roof and rear, and is due in next week to get the boot drained of water, the shocks checked and the EPS checked, oh and to replace the part that they forgot to put back on the last time it went in, but also like pregnancy what you end up with is worth all the niggles. The car is a joy to drive, when I first got it it turned more heads driving it home than in 10 years in a Ford, I was stopped by strangers in the street asking what I thought about the car and so on.

I was a relief to myself upon finding this forum as I thought I was the only one who had the numerous problems with my car, as Hondas reputation is so good, and my wife is also thankful as my frustations are no longer aired in her direction, so thanks for all the post I have read so far, I will sleep more soundly now I am in the know .

welcome to the forum graph71, good choice of car, had mine a couple of weeks, seem to have a slight problem with the boot myself, definately needs a firm push to close.

Yes, excellent choice. Welcome and enjoy.

Incidentally bb, you may find you can adjust the rubber 'stops', one either side of the hatch, to allow easier closing. Turn them in half a turn and test.

May have a go at that myself as still having to close the boot harder than any previous car I've had, cheers.

Had my 1.8SE 4 weeks now and the boot still needs a good shove to shut it. Might try the rubber stops if things don't improve. Thanks Russell 10
