Hello from Glasgow!!
Hello all!
Another new civic owner here. Loved the car since it was launched and eventually traded in my old megane (sad to see it go, honest!) for an ex demo 1.8 EX in Alabaster Silver with 18" Altimo alloys and a reversing camera. I still love the car but slightly irritated that there are so many teething problems with it, quite a few that I've found out through Civinfo. On picking the car up I was told that recalls for the rear shocks, fuel filler cap and power steering had been done. Slightly concerning I thought for a car with 650 miles on the clock. Still, I was delighted to pick up the car at last. Unfortunately this was not the end of it, one of my electric windows didn't work, neither did the sat nav ( well it did but regularly was miles out or had me in rivers etc), the dash board had a real irritating squeak and the fuel filler cap took some 3 or 4 attempts to open it. Not re-assuring when your nearly empty. This theme seems to have continued and my car is booked in for its 3rd return to the dealer within my first 1500 miles. I must say that so far no issues with the dealer, Arnold Clark in Ayr. Well just the minor issue of scratching one of the wings the last time they had it. Not the start I hoped for with the civic but hopefully all the problems will be fixed permanently before its time to buy my next car. Lastly, what are the current faults/ recalls in order that I can get my dealer to get them done when the car goes in next month? Great Site Thanks |

Hey Lex, sorry to see you have had problems with the car so far. Being a demo it's likely it was one of the first models built which unfortunately have been prone to problems. This is typical of any brand new car. Glad your dealer is sorting out most of your problems, thats what warrantys are for! Happy driving and welcome to the forum.

I hope that you get all of your Civic's faults sorted soon so that you will finally be able to love your car, as I am sure you expected to when you first saw one. Welcome to the site |

welcome Lex
looks like you've had all the common faults but if you're really looking for more, just cast your eyes over the 'Bugs' section hope it gets sorted soon, and you get to love it like you should |
