Hi, am I the first?

Hello everybody

Just placed the deposit on a dbp type s gt 2.2i-ctdi to teach my learner drivers with, took the car for a test drive on Monday and ran it few the the manoeuvres i was totally impressed, it's such a well thought out car
(though rear visability could be better, but hey you can't have everything)

I hope I have made the right decision, I love the car, lets hope my target audience(17-25y) thinks so too!!!!!!!

Bit about me, I have been a Driving Instructor for a few years now, before that i was a mechanic.
My main Hobby is playing with my highly tunned Subaru Impreza wrx which i try to get out on track as much as possible, hopefully my civic will join it out there as well (next one castle coomb in April)

So am I one off the first ADI's to have a new civic type s?

Rob

Interesting that you have a scooby as well - but bet you wouldn't teach learners in that!!!! Have you modded it much?

The scooby does not have many std parts left on it now, but no doubt i will still find things to do

Welcome to the forum!!

I sold a driving school a 5drs 1.4 last year (in the netherlands..).
Students love it and because they have no experience nobody ever said anything about the rear view.

Lots of fun with the CIV!!

Regards,
Brummer

I'm a driving instructor (PDI), and I have a Civic but that is not for my pupils!

I have a diesel Corsa for that.....

Thank you all for the warm welcome

Bungle, how's the preparation coming for part 3, I take it you work for BSM.

I have the 1.3 corsa at the moment, it bores me to tears, and can be very sluggish if left in a to higher gear for a given situation.

If i can help at all then drop me a PM

My dad is a staff coach for BSM - he's had a test drive of the new diesel Corsa - can't say he was very impressed. He sounded far more interested in our 2.2 civic!

It's being run by my good friends from Trackmasters, there is a list running but may be a chance of a space on the day. can give you more details if you like?

Top trumps, I have not driven the new one but if its anything like that last model then its going to be duller then a spoon. I need to get my Civic on the road as soon as possible

cheers

not that I'd be looking to join you on the track (I prefer club track days where I know everyone! ), but if the dates work out, might pop along for a watch as it's only about 45 mins away

V nice to learn in a Type S! Hope your pupils don't have problems with the rear view (be a good lesson for them to use the wing mirrors!) Will you be getting parking sensors too?
