Smile hello from a newbe

Hi All, found your great forum from a writeup on whatcar.com about the civic.

Thinking of getting the 2.2CDTi EX model, any thoughts?? I have driven both the Accourd and the new civic and liked them both......... but never owned a Honda.

Petrol or Diesel - you won't be dissapointed with the Civic.

Welcome to the forum.

You maybe right okehciv, but I am waiting on the dealer calling me in the morning for a test drive of the EX 2.2d. They reckoned they didn't have any demos in this spec. They also said the ES sold more than the EX?? From looking at the cars your fine poeple have, it seems that most have the EX.....

I must admit I am also looking at the A3 2.0d SE.....well just have to wait and see

If I could ban you myself I would!

If would were spec up an A3 to the same level as an EX you'd be out a small fortune!

Just got back from the Honda dealer after my test drive. I was disapointed that I couldn't test drive an EX but the ES was the best trim they could offer. I found the car responsive and seemed to want go when you pushed it. I have spec'd my car with them, but he couldn't offer a discount today, so I said I would wait to see what his manager could do.
My spec would be 2.2 diesel, EX, Black or Red? 18" Storm, Leather and Panoramic Roof and the studio pack (camera, doorstep, mats, blue lights)

I have my A3 test drive on Monday, but am thinking now of cancelling it.....

I must admit you are all right I LOVED THE CIVIC!

I was also looking at an A3 Sportback 2.0 diesel but the Civic is much better to drive and works out the best part of 5k cheaper. Then you factor in the Honda dealers are much easier to deal with than Audi's.

For me the CDTi is the first diesel I've driven that really works, no nasty noises, no sudden "step" in power delivery and excellent econom.
