Quick hello..

Just a quick hello. Matt from S Yorks. Looking to buy either a Civic or (don't shout) a BMW 1 series to replace my (please don't shout) Merc C Class lease car.

Been snooping the net and found what look to be some very attractive deals from Broadspeed & DTD that make the Civic look like a good 2 or 3 year buy.

I'm looking to spend upto £17k (may be a little more of the deal is right) but my main worry is a work mate spent £17k on his 2.2ctdi SE 18 months ago so I can only see the asking price going south as we move on... and residuals with it.

Need to be able to seat 3 kids in the back (2 on boosters). Top of my list so far is a 2.2ctdi TypeS-GT or a 2.2ctdi ES. I love the Milano Red but it looks cheap on the ES so I may go for black / dark blue.

My alternative is a BMW 118dES or a 2nd hand 120d m-sport.

Wife is also in on the debate and is nagging me to go big again and buy an S-Max but I'm resisting with all my might.

This site looks great, some good advice and some good reviews.

Any advice on what model to go for & why would be great.. Anything to watch for too would be great.

Also, I'd be interested to know if anyone has managed to get a Broadspeed pricematch and if so what dealer. I'm trying to avoid my local Stratstone dealer but others locally from the Lincoln-Honda group are attracting me.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forum!

I am waiting for a Civic to replace my old E-class as an every day car (keeping it though) and did seriously look at the 1-series.

Look in the Wiki to see if anyone has experience of these dealers.

Personally, I like the EX versions with all the toys.
