Welcome aboard Ashsales.
Nice to know that at least one of the stealers out there is trying to be nice. ......try and keep away from TC tho! "Lady H tries on clothes and if they don't fit she blames wieght gain. I try on clothes and if they don't fit I I reckon she's shrunk them in the wash!" Charles H. |

Well i didn't know that about the BHP... i have driven some 1.8's here that feel sluggish and some feel very sprightly...we only use them up to 5ooomiles, after that we've no idea if they loosen up much although the 1.8sport with 18" altimos was absolutly amazing on fuel, i went from shropshire to aberystwyth and was recording 51.9MPG and in my diesel i'm struggling to get 46mpg generally? maybe it's more me than the car!!
Thanks for warm welcome, i am know as the product champion here!! but you folks put me to shame!! Please incite more useful information....lol Ash |

One question an "Insider" could help us all with...
Are the broadspeed & DTD Prices a realistic benchmark to take to your local dealer...? I've just been to mine this morning with the Broadspeed price for a 2.2icdti S-Type GT (£16520) and also the price for a 2.2icdti EX (£17360) and he almost fell over. He pointed to a 1.8ivtec Types GT in the showroom at £16265 and said that was their "no haggle" price. Also pointed to a 12 month 8000mile old 1.8EX on 18" alloys in the used section at £17000. I've made an appointment to meet him again on Monday next and I'll be taking full Broadspeed & DTD quotes with me for him to hand over to the boss.... I hope to strike some understanding and move towards a deal. |

Hi Shefki,
The Broadspeed quotes are a pain for us dealers...they have found a dealer somewhere who is willing to give absolutley everything away (and i mean everything) including end of agenda and quarter bonus. However, the dealer would be silly to offer no discount because thats just not good business either. Does the prices you have include metallic paint? it is normally on option on DTD and you add it on after...if not then were looking at £1047 disocunt? The question from me would be...how close do we need to get and when do you want it (financial incentive for quick turnaround)?? Keep me informed and if you need my price just ask. Note though : if a sales person is presented with a sheet saying the DTD price and you say "match it" then he/she wont even try...try the "i'd rather have it from you...but i need somewhere close, he'll try his best for you then.... Hope any of that helps... Ash |

The prices I am looking at is for a flat car. I'm looking for Milano red if I go for a TypeS-GT or NHB if I go for an EX so I'd have to allow for pain extra on the EX. I have just been and test drove a TypeS-GT and found the performance fantastic (3rd gear is electric) BUT there was a cage full of trim canaries squeeking their arse off in the dash once the AC turned things cold and the rear suspension sounded like a bag of marbles under the boot floor. This demo car had just 1800 miles on the clock so I'd hate to think what she'd be like at 35,00 in 2 years time when I've still a year left to pay. Really upset me because I really really wanted to fall in love with this car and strike a deal. I'm taking an EX out tomorrow with 28,000 miles on the clock from a neighbouring dealer to see if the TS-Gt was a dud or if it's the norm. As for the deal.. Before my test drive I told the salesman that I've no desire to talk about list prices as I am a cash buyer (private finance no PX). I gave him the DTD & Broadspeed quotes and told him that these were the ball park figures we'd be talking about... I'd rather do a deal locally but when there is upwards of £1300 to chew over I could easy do the deal with a broker and service the car locally... and let them take the warranty work. Also a bit of a shock to see a fully spec'd up EX i-vtec (lether, rear camera, sunroof) with 600 miles standing sticker price of £15495k with just 5 months since registration....said to be £20k+ list. |
