Question Hello- (Yet another newbie)

Hello , took an type-s out for a test drive and was seriously impressed.
I was so impressed I didnt even go an look at the focus as I intended.
I am however looking at the 2.2 i-ctdi sport (I need a 5 door), but was just wondering how does the sport compare to the s-type.
e.g. drive / suspension etc /Interior features ?

cheers

Hi and Welcome!

We dont get the Type S over here so I am no expert, but my understanding is that is the same interior features, but slightly wider between the rear wheels.

good call!

Was it the standard S, or the GT?

I'd need to get the spec out to work out the differences in the levels of trim etc, but the drive should be essentially the same as they both share identical engines.
The S gets an extra 20mm width on the rear suspension, but I'm not sure quite how much actual difference that makes to the ride

S comes with 17" wheels as standard, which you can upgrade to 18"
Sport comes with 16", which you can upgrade to 17"

S obviously gets the flashier body trim with the flared skirts

Do you really need 5 doors?

If it's for very young kids, some owners have said it's easier to get child seats in and out of a 3 door than the 5

many thanks for the response,
I thought the 2.2 sport came with 17" wheels (just looked in the book).
But unfortunately yes I have to go for a 5 door, I just wrote off a crappy 3 door and the other half complained endlessly, so got to get a 5 door. better than getting ear ache.
As far as I know it was the standard s-type.

In Sweden the Sport has 17" wheels.
But then specs vary across Europe.
