Hey guys, I'm hailing from Skegness, hoping to buy one o 'dem 'dere Civics soon as I sell off my old car ( Mazda RX8 ). Great car, bad economy.
I'm looking into the prices on Drivethedeal/Autobytel, but also at a couple used cars. I may need some advice in that regard, if you'd be willing to help. Later guys. Last edited by DHough; 1st August 2007 at 21:48. |

Welcome D!
Presume thats an RX8 that turned into a smilie! Some early cars have a bunch of issues, I would go for new if at all possible. What engine etc are you looking for? |

Hah, yeah it was, fixed now though.
I was looking at the 2.2D, I don't really do enough miles to cover it's cost, but I do really like the performance of it so that's pretty much the deciding factor. That being said, I have not test driven the 1.8...I should probably do that. I'm definitely looking at the 5-door though (magic seats + bike = |

Hi,
We don´t get diesel or leather over here in my corner of the world. The 1.8 is nice so do try it, the upside with the diesel is more low-rev tourqe, but for me the major bonus would have been the possibility to remap it up to 190 bhp! But it is more expensive to buy and service. I went for satnav and glass roof (that is what is called "Executive" here). |

Heh, I'm not looking to remap or anything, but I do like the low rev power. It's a very different experience than driving an RX8, which has most of it's power locked away beyond 6,000 revs.
I've looked for some used Civics with the specs I want, two exist according to the Honda used car search, both priced at £17.5k. I might call them and see how low they would offer it to me, as if they don't drop the price I might as well buy a 57 plate at the internet broker price of £18.5k. To me, having a new car is worth more than £1k. |

Welcome to you Dhough !
I agree with you, a new car worth it if you intend to keep it. Hope you will be successful in your search ! |
