Hi from Brisbane, Australia
Hi to one and all from Australia. Don't know if many Aussies post on this forum, but anyway here I'm am.
I own what in Australia we call the Honda Civic Si hatch which I bought new in Oct 2011. Manufactured in March 2011 in Swindon, UK (like all of you guys Civic hatches) it is the stock standard 1.8 auto 8th gen hatch in Alabaster Silver. I'm an older guy, not into any mods, and bought the hatch for it's unique appearance. Simply put, there is no hatch available in Australia (including the just released 9th gen hatch I have to add) that comes close to this for breathtakingly good looks. Sure, the ride is a little noisy over coarse bitumen, the seats a little uncomfortable on long journeys and the instrumentation not always legible in certain lighting conditions, but all is forgiven when you view your car parked amongst the sea of Mazda 3's, Holden Cruze's and Toyota Corolla's that swamp the car parks at Australian shopping centres!! Thanks to all of you that post here regularly as I have already acquired a lot of useful info about the Civic hatch not readily available from the local Honda dealers here in Brisbane. Try not to be harsh on me because I'm an Aussie btw - my dad's a Geordie who emigrated here in 1952 so there is some pommie blood coursing through my body!! All the best to you all and I look forward to visiting often. aussie. |
