Hi from the North East UK

About to put an order in for a CTR, still trying to get my dealer to match the price I have from some internet sites..really looking forward to getting one of these cars. Anyone used internet sites to buy a CTR? if so how did it go, what was your local dealer like re: warranty/servicing?

Sorry to be pedantic.....but Sunderland is not the N.E of the UK.
It may well be the N.E. of England, and seems quite a long way from London, but it's only about half way up the island.

Turn round and face North and you'll see that there's still quite a lot of Britain to go.

Welcome aboard

Many owners have been in your dilema, not just with CTRs

Generally, the advice has been "if your local dlr can get pretty close to the 'net price, its worth paying the extra"
Down sides of buying from the 'net are typically that lead times suddenly and mysteriously increase after the order, and the non-ability to check the car over before taking ownership - and then associated hassle of getting any pre delivery gripes sorted out.

But please note that is 'in general'

And any dlr worth their salt will be happy to do servicing and warranty work irrespective of where it came from
But don't expect them to (say) fix the (dlr fit) parking sensors which are faulty when the car first turns up on a low loader at your house.

Allreet kev marra, i wish you look with the purchase, If its springfield Sunderland they are pretty good with deals and small discounts on the civic model, however the CTR is a different story due to lead times and demand been very strong.. When i enquired about one i was offered £600 off "Tops"

Keep us informed tho marra.

Not really THAT pedantic.....just true.

According to Google Earth, you're not even half way

London - Sunderland (NE England) 275 miles
London - Wick (NE UK) 665 miles

....and just wait 'til the guys from Orkney (710 miles) and Shetland (752 miles) get a hold of you!

Only pulling your leg, Mackem.

Enjoy your new whizzmobile and remember to turn it's bonnet North across Hadrian's Wall for some fine Border driver's roads.

Hi kevj121, and welcome to the forum.
I hope you don't have to wait too long for the car, now it's ordered

Hey Lobey, if London is at the bottom of the country as you suggest, why don't I get wet travelling the 50 miles or so due south from London to Brighton

Just anticipating a bit of coastal erosion ...or maybe global warming (buy a diesel and...er...save the planet? ).
