Previous Honda, but new to a Civic!

Hi all,

I've had a Honda CR-V for the last few years, and while I like the car for the ride height and cabin space, I was getting fed up with refilling it so often.

I've just bought a one year old 2.2 diesel Civic Sport, and am very much looking forward to picking it up on Friday. I'm also looking forward to potentially halving my fuel consumption too.

Thanks TTDegs. I'm already reading the superchip remapping thread, but my wife thinks that I don't need "one of these"...

Hi rudgej, and welcome to the forum.

You don't NEED to tell her about the mod do you
She will never really know, it's not like you are spending money on something visible, like wheels or spoilers.

Good suggestion! Unfortunately we have one of those mortgage accounts where everything (i.e. my wages) gets paid into, so my wife has a better idea of what I earn than I do...

I've not even got the car yet to get used to it, so at least I've still got that fun to appreciate. It should also be noticeably nippier than my CR-V, so between that and the dashboard, I'll be well occupied for a little while.

welcome to the forum,

but tut-tut it sounds as if you didn't need an SUV in the firstplace
if you are swopping it for a Civic
anyway you won't be dissapointed with the civic

Thanks Brodick. You're largely correct, but there have been the odd off-road moments that I would never think of doing with a Civic. When I was also doing more hill-walking in the highlands, the size of the thing was great for all the luggage, and the sill of the rear door was ideal for sitting on to take my boots off! There was also the odd moment on snowy roads where I could just drive by all the cars that were stuck. On the whole though, the benefits are outweighed by the other 95% of normal driving where the Civic will excel. I'll be able to go round corners without falling over, for instance.

Thank you czechplastik. It seems like a useful forum to hang out in (although it could be an expensive one too).
