DC2 owner looking for a Civic!
Hello everyone.
I'm going to be spending the next few months researching on this forum as I have finally decided to sell my ageing Integra Type R and get a Civic. I'm looking at getting a Type S GT so anyone who has one I would love some feedback. What you like most and what you hate most is always the best place to start I guess. One thing I will miss is going to be the power and handling of the DC2 but lets be honest and say that if you ever push that car your probably breaking the law. One quick question as it's hard to find info on it, does every Type S have sat nav or just the 09 facelift models? Also I believe that the 09 facelift has the USB connection but not on the earlier models. I carry all my current playlists on my phone so always plug it into the car for driving. Anyway, I look forward to gathering some useful knowledge whilst I search for the right car. Mike |

I dont think any models have sat nav as standard, i believe it was always an optional extra? So its just pot luck really.
Could be wrong though |

Thanks for the welcome guys. Just found a PDF brochure online and it's the Type S-T and Type S GT-T that have sat nav as standard.
Just need to find out about the USB port for the iPhone as that will be my sat nav and music playback device. |

If it doesn't have a usb fitted you can get the for £30, i fitted one myself about a month ago. Iv got type s gt and love it. Mine is a derv though as you can get the type s 1.8 or a 1.4 petrol as well. The derv has great pulling power and with a remap and new clutch you get 190 bhp no prob

I'm going to have to wait on the iPod connection as I have the iPhone 5 with it's new lightning connector so I will have to see if a modification is available for the hooking it up. I have looked at the diesel but I love the petrol sound. Also coming from a DC2 the Type S is going to sound sedate so the diesel is not on my list.
My DC2 was heavily modified on the engine side but I'm going to keep the Civic to a minimum. I'm trying to say that with some conviction... |
