New Member Here!

Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm currently an Alfa 156 2.4 JTD driver, but am seriously considering buying a Civic 2.2 Type S for my next car.

This seems to be a great forum to learn a little more about the car before buying!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers
Neil

Should have mentioned, its between the Honda and a Seat Leon FR TDi (170). Decisions, decisions!

Cheers

from the outside - touch choice, as both are a bit 'different'

from the inside - no competition

I agree with you TTDegs. I personally like the exterior of the Leon but it loses it's appeal when you sit in side.

I agree with the point about the interior of the Leon. Sat in one a couple of weeks back, and was really unimpressed by the interior. Pretty bland to say the least. Quite well specced, and fuctional, but could have been more adventurous with it.

The civic on the other hand looks much more impressive on the inside. On the outside, the only negative that I can find is the black plastic moulding that runs over the wheelarches and skirt. These look so much better painted as on the Type R (in my opinion anyway). So if I go for the Civic, I've either got to find one with these already painted, or get them done myself.

Anyone any views or experience of this?

Cheers

The Leon's to me just look a bit cheap and havn't got the build quality of the other marques in the VW range

I say go for the Honda - Its what dreams are made of

Hi Neil, and welcome to the forum.

As you spend your time with the car on the inside of it (I hope ), the interior is more important than the outside in my book.
The bland, dull and oppressive interior of the Seat wasn't a nice place to be, whilst the Civic interior is a fantastic place to be.

But I have done some work to the outside, including colour coding the black trim, and I think it looks ok

Looking good Foggy!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you to get your trim colour coded? And was it a big job? I presume it all needs to be removed for painting.

Cheers

It cost about £500, and the bodyshop had the car for 3 days to do the job. But the result is well worth it in my opinion
