Smile Options Dilemma?

Hi all,

I am close to ordering a new Civic 2.2 EX SatNav (+ leather seating and panoramic roof) - probably Grey - but I can't decide which other options (if any) are important, good value and can/can't be added in the months ahead / after-market.

The image pack is tempting but £1500 is a lot of money so I'm inclined to not go with it. I can't see it adding much to the resale.

Likewise the parking camera at £625 and Concert Pack £650 seem overpriced and things that could be sourced cheaper and better after market? but can they? It is dissapointing I can't get the IPOD preparation offered in a VW Golf.

Other things I'm considering are: Aluminium Gear Knob - £75, Blue Ambiant Light £200 (hmmm), Parking sensors £425 (Standard in 2008 spec but is 2008 spec list price different?), Carpets £60, Body Coloured Rear SPoiler (£250).

I have no idea what the following are/offer: Bumper Garnish F/R (£235/235), bumper protectors £300, Speaker Rings £40

I'd appreciate some voice of reason!!!

Thanks,
Ed.

Welcome Ed,

I went for:
- Blue ambient lighting
- Parking sensors
- Floor mats
- Travel pack (boot mat + cargo net)

I am very happy with those.

All options, apart from leather, glass roof etc, are dealer fit and can be added later.
There are after market solutions for parking sensors, ambient light and reversing camera, have a look in the how-to section.

2008 EX is slightly more expensive due to standard sensors.

Speaker rings are silver rings around the speakers on the doors.
I think you need two sets.

There should be pics of the bumper protectors and garnish around.

Aluminium gear knob - have not tried myself, but read that it makes the gear level higher.

The blue ambiant lighting is expensive, but worth it as it makes the interior unique.
The parking sensors are needed and the honda ones are best.
The carpets are cheap in price but good in quality.
The bumper garnish and protectors should be bought all together called 'City Pack' which make the car look better and adds protection to the mid line. Here's mine:

Thanks guys. I went for the EX with Leather Roof, Studio Pack and Parking Sensors ... now it's just a case of seeing whether my dealer can deliver it after today's delay in Galaxy Grey cars from Dec to Jan 31st

It will be worth the wait. Good spec.

Hang in there.

Mine was 2 weeks early as they always seem to give you the worst case senario so they look good.
