Rate my car history???

I'm new here so I thought how about setting up a rate my car history thread??

Any way here goes this is mine.

1. MG Metro Turbo B reg in red went in for repair never resurfaced - No oil pressure, engine failure etc etc etc Turbo was fine!!

2. Rover Metro 1.1s - The sensible option reliable but quite slow.

3. Civic 1.5 ils on and N plate - Great car - Kept it for 4 years.

4. Civic Coupe W Reg - Wooed by 0% interest and free insurance - Great boot but little else to say.

5. Type R 02 - Nighthawk Black - At last a great car but how do you follow that?

6. S2000 - Nurb Blue 54 Plate - Was great til I went out in snow and spun - on a straight into bank at roadside. Damage repaired but I was sorry to see it go.

7. Type R GT(57) - Milano Red - Ipod, Mats, Flaps, Ambient (Red), Spare wheel, Sat Nav, Speaker upgrade. Not too sure yet!!!

Marks out of 100% if possible.
Be kind!! Thanks!

Thanks for that. I personally thought the coupe was much lower than the 1.5ils 3 door.

30% for the coupe and 50% for the 3 door.

Any one else up for a car rating???

He how bout this

1. Citreon AX 1.4 diesel. - wasn't to bad for the money it cost me untill the engine blew up on the motorway after about a year and loads of brown ouze starting to come out of the engine.

2. Ford Fiesta freestyle 1.25 petrol - well I chavved this one up a bit (sorry I was young at the time) I quite liked this apart from the ditinct lack of speed. this was running ok untill it was broken into by bending the drivers door frame outwards so they could get to the central locking handle and then pinching about £500 worth of stereo. After that I went travelling for a few months and left it under a lime tree (D'oh!) Also where the car had been broken into it used to leek so six months later upon my return I found that my car had been covered in lime sap and there where mould growing on the passenger side seats and floor (it looked like it had been snowing in my car)

3. Golf Drive 1.8 (n reg or something like that) not much to say about it really apart from that it was in that bogey green colour

3. BMW 1 series 120d - Well this is actually my G/F's but I drove it everywhere untill I got my civc, I know what a lot of you will say about the 1 series but it really is a good car and quick aswell.

4. Milane Red Civic 2.2 - What more needs to be said?

French diesel hmm 25% French normally reliable but lacking that Va Va Voom..

Ford fiesta - only driven one once and that wa slong ago but cheap and cheerfull - Why do som many p**** break in to cars - why dont they get a job and buy their own??

Not keen on the golf - never have been not even the GTi Think it stems back to the day I went to look at them told the dealer I drove a Honda and he promptly slagged it off. Surprisingly we did not buy a VW. Only10%

BM - 50% Dont likeem but they hold their value.

Nearly bought a diesel when I bought my new Type R Fuel economy etc etc but settled For the R. Still want the extra eco but ....... My r gets 36.3 at moment driving at resonable speed. 75%

Red Type R Gt

Well my car history comprises:

1) Ford Focus 1.8i 5dr Zetec (Black) - great engine and gearbox - pleased me no end as my first car unfortunately my colleague borrowed it one day and it didnt come back...
2) Ford Focus 3dr ST170 (Magnum Grey) - got this after a catalogue of courtesy / hire cars (see above)
I know this car didnt get the best reviews, but its very underated in my opinion - yes the gearing was too long so the 6 speed box was a bit of a novelty in that respect, but it was slick and precise. The steering, handling and brakes were excellent. The ride compromise was just right....my second favourite car!
3) VW Golf 1.6 5dr SE - Tropic Orange - trash, absolute trash, never never again, don't know why I even bought it - oh yeah had to save some money for a house and wedding!
4) Peugeot 307 1.6 5dr S - Silver - company supplied this car; though more like company supplied poo...actually to be fair I had no problems with it given how low the reliability ratings were and it was a reasonble cruiser...
5) Honda Civic 2.2 ES in NHB...still a company car but I chose it, and that makes all the difference! . Really really pleased with it - excellent ride, decent handling (though not as good as ST170, not by quite a bit actually) lots of equipment. I'll definitely be looking at a Honda again in three years...

Did you have a bit of a thing for Fiats ? Latest crop of cars are quite popular, new 500 and Punto Grande Abarth.

You probably won't keep the Civ too long then ?

Ford Cortina 1.6XL Mk3 1972 K reg - First car and what a beauty. Belonged to someone who worked in a bodyshop who looked after it.

Ford Escort 1.6L Mk2 1973 L reg - Terrible car, built out of the cheapest steel available, rusted before your very eyes

Ford Cortina 1.6GL Mk5 1981 X reg- My first nearly new car. Bought with 20,000 miles on it and I was pleased as punch with it at the time

Vauxhall Cavalier SRi Mk1 1984 D reg- Enjoyed this at the time

Vauxhall Astra SRi Mk2 G reg - Rubbish. It understeered like a dog in the wet, scaring the pants off me on more than one occasion

Vauxhall Cavalier 16v SRi Mk3(?) 1994 L reg - Ok - just

Ford Fiesta 1.0 Pop - stopgap between my Cavalier and the Audi coming

Audi A3 1.8 Sport 1997 R Reg- First brand new car and I loved it.

Ford Focus 2.0 Zetec ESP 2000 W Reg- Sold the Audi and bought this as we moved house and had to generate some cash to buy a new kitchen. I really like this car despite what people say about Fords

Toyota RAV4 GX 03 reg- Reliable as anything and decent fun for a 4x4

Toyota RAV4 XT3 04 reg - As above

Honda Civic 2.2EX 06 reg - Pleased to get back to a car from a 4x4. Great fun cornering and decent poke

Ford Fiesta (basic popular model) - a tin box on wheels. Was so light it felt like it took off over every bump. Doors went clang when you shut them. Had some good times in it though and some very fond memories!!

Ford Fiesta - again but slightly less tin box version. Velour seats and I thought it was posh

Isuzu Trooper - Got a horse and needed to tow a trailer. Great work horse of a vehicle. Loads of space inside. Could drive it wearing wellies and it doubled up as a mobile tack room. Ended up very smelly

Fiesta XR2 - OMG the less said about this one the better.

Golf 1.4 - Boring, boring, boring. It was the previous version before the current model and I liked the clear headlights. No othe car had anything similar at that time.

Alfa 147 - Really liked this car. Had a fantastic interior and looked great but wasn't fast enough. People used to come up to me and say I bet thats a fast car but it wasn't. Engine sounded lovely though.

Civic Type R old version - My favourite so far.

Civic Type R new version - Picking up Thurs. Will I prefer this to my old one......

The Ax's were free insurance specials.
We were 21 & 22 years old and street parking in London. Insurance quotes were £1200 even with no claims! This was mid 90's mad time!
Like for like change was £1400. Therefore real cost to change was £200 in 1 years free road tax!!! £100 a year depreciation, no wonder I am now an accountant!!

Honestly I do try to plan to keep cars, amazingly I have had the Civic since June and still have no interest in changing!!
