Icelink 100

I have just installed a Gateway Icelink I00 following some of the excellent information already posted.

The problem I have is that I unable to change modes and control the ipod using the ipod controls rather than the HUs.

The manual that came with the Icelink is pretty difficult to understand.

Can anyone help please.....

There are some problems with the Gateway 100 on the Civic, which Dension say they are aware of and working on. They have sent me one firmware update but this has not solved all problems. I frequently have to switch the ignition on and off several times to get the radio to even switch to the CD changer mode.

I suggest you look at the support part of the Dension website (dension.com) and raise a ticket to describe your problem. They seem to respond fairly quickly even though they don't have the full solution yet.

Very frustrating!!

Thanks

Thanks for the advice I'll take a look at the Dension website.

Is the firmware update for the Gateway or the iPod. My iPod is running 1.23, which is the latest I believe.

The firmware update is for the Gateway. You follow the instructions to download it to ITunes, then onto your IPOD and then "play" the file in the car to update the Gateway. It's all pretty straighforward and it improved things for me but didn't solve all the problems.

Good luck!

the manual is quite difficult to understand. I myself have the gateway 100 installed with the bluetooth option.

You will need to set the device into ipod UI mode which enables the ipod's controls and to control it via the stereo as well. To do this you need to do the following in CD-C mode

1. press + or - to change to Disc 6
2. press >> or << to navigate to Track 2

What you should have displayed is CDC - Disc 6 Track 2

3. now press and hold >> (on stereo, not steering wheel as it will skip discs)

That should now put it into ipod UI mode which allows you to use the ipod controls as well.

Cheers

Seik

I have the exact same setup: Dension Gateway 100 in an EX (installed as per the FAQ section post).

The damn thing just won't go into Ipod User Interface mode. It just says that there is an accessory attached the whole time.

When you say that the new firmware doesn't fix everything - does it at least allow Ipod UI interface?

Thanks
H

Both before and after the fix, I was able to switch modes. It seems to me that the whole thing is pretty random!

Thanks to Seiken mine is now behaving itself very well. I can control the iPod using the click wheel and menus, plus can change tracks & the volume via the steeering wheel buttons.
